Production Planning Business Analyst (SAP)

With general guidance, this position defines, researches, and recommends enhancements for the manufacturing resource planning/ enterprise resource planning (MRP/ERP) system specifically for SAP Production Planning.  This role works with end-users, analysts, consultants and vendors.  The role supports specific functional areas and focuses on design and implementation of custom SAP  business solutions.  The role analyzes and interprets data, coaches users and builds consensus to ensure consistent use of MRP/ERP information.  By linking the functional area(s) with technology solution providers, the position plans and manages short to medium term projects related to software support, records  management, data security and SAP business solutions.


Partners with internal and/or external resources to design, document, integrate, implement, maintain and coordinate SAP solutions for functional areas. Works with others to identify, define, and document business requirements, current operational procedures and problems to be resolved.
Defines and documents specifications for functional business processes.
Participates proactively in feasibility studies and preparing proposals for solutions to meet objectives. Solutions may address organizational, procedural or technical issues to support new systems or operational changes. Solutions include, but are not limited to, ensuring data and processes flow between areas without issue.
Executes and monitors changes to configurations, databases and system infrastructure. Validates, organizes, documents and reports on system data. Facilitates configuring, troubleshooting, performance tuning and security processes into SAP using SAP Middleware Technology or an equivalent tool.
Troubleshoots and resolves system performance and data issues. Works with others as needed to address issues and enhancements.
Develops and recommends standards for systems management to ensure consistency and future application. Drafts and helps maintain functional specifications.
Supports continuous improvement projects, such as improving MRP/ERP interfaces or performance. Partners with others to increase system efficiencies and people productivity. Reviews, recommends and implements upgrades as needed to maintain or improve accuracy and usefulness. Works with internal and external resources. Works directly with consultants to resolve issues with daily operations and to make longer-term process improvements.
Provides training on system features, functions, and procedures for others and business end-users.
Follows data security and privacy practices and standards while meeting end-user needs.



Requires bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, management information systems or related field.
Requires minimum five years of experience evaluating business processes and use of SAP application.
Requires minimum three years experience in ABAP Object Oriented Programming with SAP ECC and EWM.
Requires in-depth SAP experience with Production Planning.
