We’re dedicated to bringing the next generation of autonomous vehicles, smart cities and connectivity to life. ********* Position Summary: Tackle the challenge of autonomous driving by developing integration of HD maps and localization into the software stack for enhanced perception and trajectory planning. You will build new concepts & groundbreaking solutions that shape the future of mobility. We are looking for an Autonomous Driving Software Engineer, HD Maps and Localization to join our team in Mountain View, CA. Job Responsibilities and Duties: * Develop techniques for utilizing HD maps as part of a fused perception system. * Extract HD Map data to provide horizon data streams for the autonomous software stack. * Work with map providers and other standards organizations to identify and integrate autonomous driving components. * Collaborate with a larger autonomous driving engineering team, gaining exposure to a variety of engineering disciplines & projects. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering or related technical field * 1+ years of experience developing software systems utilizing mapping/localization technologies (ADAS, HD maps, SLAM, Vision, etc.) * 1+ years of experience developing realtime software systems (automotive, robotics, etc.) Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications): * Master’s or PhD in technical or STEM field * 3+ years of experience with ADAS and/or HD maps * 1+ years of experience with data analysis and techniques for building evaluation ground truthing metrics * 1+ years of hands on experience with programming languages including: C++, python, bash, Matlab, Linux system services * 1+ years of experience with TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, CAN, JSON, XML protocols * Knowledge of mapping database formats * Knowledge of localization methods using HD map data * Knowledge of automotive radar, vision, lidar, sensor fusion techniques * Experience with using HD maps for localization methods * Experience with ADASIS v2 and V3 * Experience with uses of HD maps for autonomous vehicles * Strong analytical and problem solving skills * Strong communication skills * Demonstrated interest in autonomous technologies Aptiv Rewards and Advantages: * Competitive compensation with bonus potential * Competitive health benefits * 401K with matching contribution * Learning and development opportunities * Discount programs with various manufacturers and retailers * Recognition for Innovation and Excellence * Opportunities to give back to the community * Meaningful work that makes a difference in the world * Relocation assistance (if applicable) RSR Apply Online Ready to take the first step?
