Database Administrator III – Developer/Business Intelligence

As the Database Administrator III, you will be responsible for troubleshooting problems, implementing solutions, and monitoring the effectiveness of the databases that keep XPO running smoothly. What youll do on a typical day: * Design, Install, configure, support, and manage SQL servers and databases in clustered and standalone environments for Data warehousing applications * Manage and test backup/recovery policies and procedures. * Responsible for SQL Server database & other BI softwares upgrades/patches. * Work with ETL team to performance tune their code * Work with data modelers to implement solutions that perform and meet the business needs. * Proactively manage database support issues and effectively take corrective actions. * Responsible for the scaling and availability of the warehouse environment. * Develop stored procedures and scripting to automate databases tasks. * Monitor the environment and be ready for on-call support off-hours * Manage code migration across environments using TFS * Manage Azure services as needed * Learn about new technologies and products What you need to succeed at XPO: At a minimum, youll need: * 5-10 years of database administration experience with SQL Server * Background education in computer science or engineering * Strong SQL Server (preferably 2016) administration experience in a clustered environment * Expert in SQL Server performance tuning and query monitoring * Experience in Data Warehousing environment * Strong understanding of relational data modeling * Expert in T-SQL * Experience with all of Microsoft BI stack (especially SSIS & SSAS tabular) * Smart, driven and problem solver * Can communicate with peers and business users * Care deeply about performance Itd be great if you also have: * Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science or electrical engineering * Experience in a startup environment * Data warehouse design and experience * Experience with Azure * Ability to identify and resolve problems * Excellent verbal and written communication skills Be part of something big. #LI-CM2 XPO provides cutting-edge supply chain solutions to the world’s most successful companies, including Disney, Pepsi, L’Oral, Toyota and many others.
