Position Overview

The Forensics Cyber Security Manager position is within the Technology Services Group in the Information Technology division at Freddie Mac. The role provides effective management and technical direction over the Digital Forensics function. This Manager will oversee network and host-based forensics and malware analysis. The Manager is responsible to guide the efforts of a team of cyber analysts, supporting day-to-day investigations to protect and defend critical infrastructure.
The role builds, develops, and maintains relationships with internal and external customers, and vendors to formulate solutions for Freddie Mac and customer system issues related to Information Security. It also clearly communicates business unit/department/company goals to staff and works with staff to translate them into specific performance goals. The role must assure the appropriate level of technology, staffing, skill levels, and processes required to deliver high-level information security processes, procedures and solutions to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of Freddie Mac and customer assets. This position reports to the Director of Cyber Security.
Responsibilities include:
• Manage the Forensics and Malware Analysis Team to provide timely response to customer requests for assistance in cyber activities: threat analysis, forensic examinations, insider threat analysis, and file review.
• Manage the Digital Forensics lab that includes maintaining the security procedures, overseeing infrastructure and continuously improving forensic analysis capabilities.
• Provide forensic and file analysis reports, risk and threat evaluation, after action reports and summaries, and other situational awareness information to customer and other stakeholders.
• Develop Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) establishing reporting criteria, structure, and operational reports.
• Provide technical support, analysis, and recommendations in areas such as: Forensic Review; Perimeter Defense Efficacy; Malicious Software (Malware) Analysis; Attack vector analysis; Computer Host Based Defense; Insider Threat; Risk Analysis and Readiness; Strategic Planning Analysis
• Responsible for the successful stewardship of the Cyber Security Forensic Investigation Team (CSFI).
• Present to different audiences and adjust accordingly (business, technical and executive management) in either structured presentations or ad-hoc.
• Must be able to lead complex projects that improve the security posture of the company

Qualifications

*8+ years of Information Security or related risk management experience
*4+ years of Digital Forensics Information Security/Malware Analysis Response experience
*Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, related field or equivalent work experience
*Relevant security knowledge and experience in two of the following areas: security operations, host-based forensic analysis, malware analysis, threat response
*Advanced knowledge of operating systems and forensic analysis procedures
*Experience with managing enterprise forensic solutions and malware analysis tools
*Demonstrated experience in handling cyber incidents and response in similar critical environments
*Experience with running a forensics lab
*Proficient in preparation of reports, dashboards and documentation
*Experience in leading and managing personnel

Preferred Skills

*CISSP or CISM certification is preferred. Other relevant security certifications will be considered
*CERT® incident handling, GCIH, GCFE, GCFA, GREM, or other security or forensics certification
*Experience in the financial services industry
*Proven ability to lead and influence across and up during business impacting events
*Ability to influence and guide decision making in crisis moments
