Director IT, Data Science Engineering and Analytics Job Description Director IT, Data Science Engineering and Analytics Roswell, Georgia Summary of Role: The mission for the Director of Data Science Engineering and Analytics is to provide leadership and strategic direction to multiple globally diverse teams in building reporting and analytical capabilities across the organization. In conjunction with the global and regional business units, corporate functions and the ITS leadership team, this position is responsible for transforming business data into solutions that provide high-quality information with integrity to drive business growth, customer and consumer insights as well as developing strategic working relationship between information systems and the business units supported within the organization. This position has direct accountability for the timeliness and quality of services of global analytical solutions portfolio supporting global customers in Consumer and KC Professional. This role provides leadership and strategic direction to multiple globally diverse teams in the delivery of analytical solutions. Supervise global BI delivery managers, regional service coordinators and specialists from around the globe, providing overall direction and guidance. In addition to internal resources, manages supervisors and resources from outsourced vendor(s) for application delivery and support across global technology areas to ensure vendor meets Service Level Agreements and end user expectations. Works collaboratively with business clients, business partners and across the IT organization to define, prototype, and implement new technologies to enable business objectives. Is responsible for establishing day-to-day operational support for analytical solutions that includes supplier management activities, business continuity, and overall service delivery support operations including change, incident, problem and configuration management. Prepares reports and makes presentations to sector/staff unit management detailing quality, performance, business issues and budget vs. actual results. Prepares departmental budgets and unit salary plans. This roles customers are leaders and staff in Consumer and KCP Business teams in all regions; all internal ITS teams, IT application delivery partners, and consultants. Customer Expectations/Accountability: * Delivery of Reporting Solutions across regions and globally for all capabilities * Drive build of Analytics Products * Enable proactive IT solutions to drive business growth and profitability * Deliver innovative, efficient and cost effective solutions to meet enterprise needs and to drive business growth and profitability. * Co-ordinate KTLO work using regional co-ordinators. Drive Regional enhancement work separate from global project delivery. * Manage budget for Managed services as well as Co-Sourced services. * Drive ownership within the team for communication across operations. * Build an Advanced Analytics Team inclusive of Data Scientist and Big Data experts * Insight and understanding on best practices and keeping pace with competition and peer companies * Thought leadership in emerging data and analytic technologies (i.e., HANA, Hadoop, Alteryx) * Work with businesses and capability teams to establish business process sustainability and business benefits * Ensure insight and understanding of best practices and keeping pace with competition and peer companies. * Extensive collaboration with other IT Services Delivery Teams to ensure high performance of the global application portfolio. * Recommend and drive the prioritization of Information Technology decisions for the global businesses to ensure world class delivery and value for ITS investment. Essential Functions: * Global Application Delivery Define, analyze, and deliver data and analytica initiatives in accordance with business and IT priorities and annual budgets. * Business-IT Strategy – Promote and support the long-range IT systems plan consistent with business objectives. Support and facilitate the alignment of corporate IT, EDM&A strategies to business strategies. * BPO Relationship Management – Represent the face of IT to the customer. Identify technology opportunities which provide strategic/tactical advantages in planning, managing and conducting the business. Engage with key customers and other external business partners to deliver IT solutions in a high quality, globally conscience manner. * Build Talent Promote and build global leaders, develop staff with the needed functional and technical skills required to meet K-Cs growing application portfolio and changing technology needs. Skills Compentencies: * System Development Management: Agrees, with business management, systems development projects which support the organizations objectives and plans. Ensures that management is both aware of and able to provide the required resources, and that available resources are properly utilized and accounted for. Monitors and reports on the progress of systems development projects, using appropriate quality assurance processes to ensure that projects are carried out in accordance with agreed standards, methods and procedures. * Information Management: Takes responsibility for planning effective information storage, sharing and publishing within the organization. Maintains and communicates the organizations information management strategy. Devises and implements document and record systems, including classification, retrieval and retention processes. * Maintains an inventory of information subject to data protection and other appropriate legislation. Reviews new business proposals and provides specialist advice on information management, including advice on and promotion of collaborative working and assessment and management of risk. Responsible for ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures and overall information management strategy. * Stakeholder relationship management: Is responsible for defining the strategic approach to understanding the needs of the business (demand management) and works with delivery engines to meet these needs. Establishes and promotes the overall vision for how IT can support the business. Defines, and gains agreement on, the principles for establishing effective relationships between stakeholders, including responsibility for the relationship between IT functions and business clients. * Autonomy: Works under broad direction. Work is often self-initiated. Is fully accountable for meeting allocated technical and/or project/supervisory objectives. Organizational Relationships/Scope: The incumbent works with the global ITS Business Partner Organization, Infrastructure and Strategy Innovation & Architecture to establish overall strategy for delivery of analytical solutions globally to the Corporation. This includes determining the organization model for effective delivery of global application solutions. The incumbent engages Corporate and IT leadership to develop the strategic direction for application solutions. Directs the approach for the development and delivery of application solutions globally, which underpin many aspects of business operations. The incumbent contributes outside of remit to broader IT strategy, objective setting, project priorities, and innovation. The incumbent directs ITS senior managers, managers, and consultants to ensure business strategies are translated into global applications. The position must collaborate with all internal ITS teams to ensure that the ITS strategy is executed through global solutions and projects. Key Challenges Include: Relationship management: * Ability to effectively influence across all levels of the organization * Meeting local and regional business needs while still driving global solutions * Managing a team that is located in multiple regions, countries and continents. * Ability to work in a matrix organization and drive collaboration across functions/departments * Other duties which may be assigned by a superior to meet business needs * Creatively driving first of a kind technology across the organization Minimum Requirements: Education required/ preferred: B.S., B. A. degree. A masters degree in a related field is preferred but not required. Experience: * 10-15 years of equivalent experience in information technology leading large, remote, global teams. * Demonstrated skills in analytics delivery, client relationship management, strong sense of urgency in delivering results, business knowledge, intuition and judgment, high cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity, strong communication/collaboration. * Strong background in Hadoop, HANA and SAP BW systems. * Knowledge of front end tools including tableau and business objects * Significant experience working with outsource partners * Strong facilitation skills required. Must display vision and resiliency. * Ability to work in a virtual team which may work across distance (remote), cultures and time zones, in a matrix with multiple reporting lines, and may extend outside the K-C organization including suppliers, partners and customers. * Verbal and written fluency in English is mandatory Working Conditions: Travel may include approximately 25% of work time. Travel may include travel via aircrafts and motor vehicles to various locations, if applicable.
