SUMMARY The IT Operations Engineer role requires combined skill sets across traditional Systems and Application Administration responsibilities for technologies deployed in an in-house or hosted environment. The IT Operations Engineer should have ability to provision, manage, monitor, and decommission cloud and on-prem services. Additional experience with provision automation, including management of technologies in a distributed environment is required. This individual will work with various teams to oversee testing and interoperability of applications under development by in-house software development teams, commercial off-the-shelf software deployed in the organization, and with external third parties as necessary. Proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of integration best practices are critical to successful performance in this role. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Working technical knowledge of in-house network, server, and platform operating systems. Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards, including Active Directory, Microsoft365, O365, SCCM, Azure, AWS, VMware Experience with scripting and automation via PowerShell. Maintain documentation of configuration and process information. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws. Understanding of cloud security best practices. Experience with templates and other configurable items to enable automation. Familiarity with deployment techniques (and tools) in a distributed environment. Basic monitoring techniques in a dynamic environment. Infrastructure as Code: design and security, configuration management, integration, deployment, performance monitoring and tuning, automation of infrastructure. Patch Management STRATEGY AND PLANNING Orchestrate integration projects and corresponding strategies between business units and development teams. Plan, execute, and manage the integration of new applications into existing systems and software throughout the enterprise. Ensure that integration projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues. Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of newly integrated software programs and applications. OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT Ensure the collection and coherent interpretation of the various business processes affected by integration efforts. Work diligently to enhance or improve business processes via integration or, as necessary, minimize the impact of integration on those processes. Where necessary, provide guidance to junior members of the team. QUALIFICATIONS Strong interpersonal skills to guide and mentor personnel as well as interact with customers and team members. Ability to influence and successfully interface with leadership Familiarity with global privacy and compliance regulations such as CASL, GDPR, DPA, PCI and ability to follow best practices Experience with working in an Agile environmentas part of a DevOps team Strong organizational skills to prioritize work and balance and lead projects. Strong troubleshooting and problem solving capabilities Ability to support a wide array of IT services Ability to quickly learn various IT tools and systems available EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Bachelors Degree in Information Services, Electrical Engineering and/or equivalent 5 years relevant experience in a global organization to include Microsoft Azure and AWS, Microsoft SCCM and InTune, PowerShell, Microsoft Active Directory, Citrix Xendesktop 7.x, Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012 R2, 2016, Windows 7, 8.1, 10, and Commvault Simpana MCSE preferred SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES — This role has no direct reports OTHER REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES This role serves the Information Technology (IT) teams. IT members may be required to travel domestically and internationally with short notice up to 10% of the time. During emergencies or crises, IT members may be required to work extended shifts with no or short notice and without defined times for stopping work.
