IT Project Manager

The IT Project Manager provides day-to-day project management support to the United States Courts, Administrative Office (AO) located in Washington, DC. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Provide general day-to-day project management support and advice on all assigned projects. * Coordinate and facilitate project management and Agile training courses. * Ensure that all project management processes meet the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) standards. * Work with government and contract staff to ensure achievement of program and project goals and objectives within time and budget constraints. * Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure proper support for requirements gathering and management, application/service design, quality management, testing, training, and deployment activities. * Coordinate and participate in requirements, design, technical, control gate and other project reviews as required. * Provide mentoring and support to project managers and support staff. * Identify and implement corrective actions and risk mitigation plans as required. * Assist in the preparation of weekly status updates and briefings as required. * Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: * Must possess experience in leading initiatives using multiple Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies. * Must possess experience in developing organizational level project management policies, guidelines, procedures, supporting assets, and related metrics. * Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills as well as excellent negotiation skills, with a proven ability to influence staff at all levels. * Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, etc.). * Ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities. Preferred Qualifications: * PMP certification or equivalent. * Experience working with Office 360 and SharePoint. * Experience working with JIRA. * Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing large, complex software development and IT projects in the federal government. * ITIL certification or experience managing projects in CMMI Capability/Maturity Level 2 or higher Education, Certifications, and Work Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Project Management, Computer Science, or related field.
