Cleveland-Cliffs is in search of an IT Support Engineer. This position is on-site at the Dearborn, MI facility. The IT Support Engineer maximizes the effectiveness of site technology by supporting and managing all user-facing equipment and relative applications. The IT Support Engineer also supports in partnership back-office technologies where needed, serves as a team member in support of both local and larger IT projects, and actively supports OneCliffs standards and practices. The IT Support Engineer will focus on identifying areas of improvement and submitting recommendations for such improvement to management for consideration.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Remain continually customer focused. Follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Perform work in accordance with Cliffs' best practices and policies.
  • Manage, troubleshoot, plan, prioritize and track work efforts using the Cliffs ticketing system to ensure the timely resolution of user requests and problems.
  • Create and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Commissions and supports user-facing hardware including laptops, desktops, peripherals, mobile/portable devices, and printers.
  • Provide basic user training when necessary.
  • Support specialized systems such as lab systems, premises security, engravers, compression testers, scale systems, other computer-controlled industrial equipment, and conference room technologies.
  • Collaborate with existing and new vendors to support IT systems.
  • Can provide network (LAN/WAN) and server support in tandem with enterprise IT teams.
  • Identify user needs and present/implement solutions.
  • Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within existing technologies.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of hardware and software assets.
  • Contribute to the value of his/her entire working team through thoughtful discussion and collaboration.
  • Work in close partnership with the site IT and PA resources.
  • Off-hours support for critical incidents.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Performs other tasks as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a technical field with strong communication skills, both written and verbal; Active Directory, basic server and network administration, desktop technologies, wireless technologies, and mobile device technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator.
  • A+ certification.
  • Network + certification.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment.
