Overview

As the Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing programs as required, to support the technical capabilities at Cox Automotive. HomeNet, a Cox Automotive Brand, is currently looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer to join our team in Exton, PA.

Job Summary:

The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for designing technology solutions that support the overall Product Technology strategy. The Lead Software Engineer must evaluate project requirements and produce high-level design deliverables that enable project teams to develop products that are robust, flexible, scalable, secure, and that support the strategic initiatives of the enterprise. The Lead Software Engineer must analyze, document and promote standards and patterns that represent the established architectural goals. Lead Software Engineers are also responsible for researching, demonstrating and providing guidance on emerging technologies and industry trends. The Lead Software Engineer must maintain expert knowledge of internal and external systems. Along with strong technical skills, the Lead Software Engineer must have a tenacious desire to learn and understand business principles, concepts and strategy.

Your Role:

Collaborate with Product Owners and project teams to understand business requirements, project goals and identify appropriate architecture plans
Work with the teams to design migration plans to AWS for their existing applications, and correctly design new systems for the cloud. Participate in their planning and design processes.
Develop high-level estimates in support of business case development
Define and document application development principles, standards, and best practices.
Advocate adoption of architecture standards such as technical design patterns and canonical data models
Take on individual projects driven by the Architecture team. These may be efforts to develop new patterns or libraries related to cloud systems, or cross-team efforts that the Architecture team needs to drive to pull in those patterns or technologies into our code.
Evaluate emerging technologies and the evolution of current technologies to define a future vision roadmap for optimal application of technology to meet business needs
Stay up to date with latest technologies and patterns related to cloud software and AWS, and disseminate this knowledge.
Provide technical thought leadership
Drive change, embracing and evangelizing appropriate evolution in IT
Communicate clearly, strongly and effectively to small and large groups
Share Enterprise Architecture knowledge with project teams, while exposing project-related architectural issues to the architecture team.
Mentor technical resources in project teams.
Facilitate architecture reviews within the Architecture Governance process
Establish yourself as a trusted technical advisor with key internal and external stakeholders
Other responsibilities as required to support the company’s growth

Qualifications

Minimum 6 years of IT delivery experience, especially in Internet environments
Minimum 3 years’ experience in multi-tier enterprise architecture environments
Minimum 2 years’ experience with Windows-based operating system environments
Strong knowledge of C#, *******, .Net and .Net Core

What We Look For:

Experience as a Technical Lead on large-scale software implementations with design and hands-on development using current Microsoft tools and technologies
Experience with XML/JSON, SOAP/REST, WCF and multi-tier distributed systems
Experience with architecting and delivering on systems designed for cloud deployment
Experience building and implementing scalable applications that use modern design patterns that leverage server-less technologies, dynamic scaling, eventing models, cost optimizations, and more
Understanding of both relational and no-SQL database technologies
Excellent problem solving skills
Strong ability to take abstract or partially-formed ideas and break them down into discrete tasks and drive out requirements and designs
Strong development skills – must be able to work hands-on
Demonstrated leadership ability, strong team player who enjoys working in a fast paced atmosphere
Ability to manage multiple priorities, commitments and projects and organize effectively
Self-motivated, directed and passionate about what you do
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work on multiple initiatives concurrently, and self-manage day-to-day work
BS in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent work experience
