Senior Applications Specialist (Business Intelligence and Data Analyst)
Puget Sound Workers’ Compensation Trust and Unemployment Pool has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Applications Specialist with primary responsibility for envisioning, creating and managing a Business Intelligence reporting and analysis function within the Agency. The organization has implemented the OrigamiRisk claims management system and seeks a data-minded individual to map out and create both ad hoc and reusable reporting from this and related systems to facilitate data-informed decision making within the Agency and its member school districts.
The Senior Applications Specialist will provide data guidance and analytics focused on improving workplace safety, reducing worker injury, and expediting healthy and productive return-to-work for injured workers. This position will work with internal and external stakeholders to proactively identify opportunities for one-time and ongoing data analysis in support of those objectives. The Senior Application Specialist will also serve as the primary point of contact for OrigamiRisk and other specialty applications, providing interface with hosting vendors and process-oriented guidance to internal staff.

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Accounting, Statistics or related field (Associate’s degree in same and/or progressively responsible work-related experience may substitute for BA/BS).
- Experience in specialized field of information management, including enterprise software systems configuration, systems testing/validation and software project management.
- Experience conducting analyses and delivering analytic results in client facing role within an insurance, consulting or delivery organization.

- Knowledge of health and/or workers’ compensation insurance industry, including trends and drivers of utilization, costs and quality.
- Knowledge of insurance/pool plan operations, associated data sources and structures, including database management, and financial concepts.
- Software implementation project management.
This full-time, year-round position is based in Renton. Salary: $77,967 – $94,995/year. Candidate offers consider experience, qualifications and internal equity.
