Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager will be in the Product Development group reporting to the Business Manager. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing larger, more complex efforts that drive the corporate strategies. This position will interact with all internal departments as well as with external vendors and clients. The Senior Project Manager will use multiple tools to execute their job responsibilites. What your day will look like: * Agent of Change- make project goals their own and use skills and expertise to inspire a sense of shared purpose within the project team. * Responsibility and Accountability for the Project- Use best practice project methodology to create a project plan to fir the stakeholders/customers’ needs and deliver project within scope, budget, and timeline. * Define Project Roles and Responsibilites- define the project scope and objectives to ensure project managers understand what is expected of them and what they should expect from one another. * Project Tracking- Prepares, maintains, and submits clear & concise activity/progress reports and status/management reports. Routinely tracking the project members’ progress against their project committments. * Adopts Project Management Best Practices- The PM is responsible for defining, teaching, and enforcing the use of good project management practices. * Problem Identification/Problem Solving Skills- Be able to recognize when problems surface or potential problems are looming. PM is able to articulate problems, bring the right people together to solve problems, and know when the problem has been properly addressed. * Promotes Customer Involvement- Project sucess is directly related to satisfying the customer; therefore, customer involvement is essential to ensure that the right product is built. * Enforces Effective Change Control- Ensure that scope, communications, and quality are carefully managed. * Drives Decision Making- The PM drives ownership of decisions to the level where the accountibility of the decision must lie. A key result is that project managers, with proper training and coaching, will almost always rise to the expectation placed on them. * Mentors Project Members- The PM is a teacher and helper to others on the team. * Consensus and Contingency- The PM routinely engages in building consensus, developing contingency planning, and providing recomend solutions. * Maintain Detailed Records- Maintain documents of the life of the project and share information as necessary. * Project Management Development- Help to develop the skill set and career path of any/all project managers on your team.
