Must be familiar with:

– Javascript (ES6, React, Angular or other framework)

– Node.js

– Configuration and provisioning tools (chef, ansible, saltstack, etc.)

Macmillan Learning, a rapidly growing STEM education-focused company based in the heart of Austin, is seeking a Lead Javascript Developer to build out its learning technology platform. We are looking for a lead team member to complete this all-star team. The team will be responsible for new products which seek to help students learn and achieve success in their academic careers.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for Full-Stack javascript development. This includes leading the charge on on UI/UX development as well as spinning up Node.js servers on the back-end and building RESTful web services that any team can consume, setting up databases & build configurations while leading a team to reach the goals. You’ll be working closely with designers, devops & other teams to integrate what is needed to build the product. TDD, scrum processes and Agile principles is also paramount – delivering products with confidence and not fear.

As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership by ensuring sound architectural foundations, high code quality and high test coverage. Along with technical leadership, you will be responsible for team leadership by mentoring and coaching junior team members to understand the prescribed architectures, team best practices and processes.

Standard Requirements:

– Experience: 5+ years of full stack development

– Education: BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar degree
