Equinix is looking to hire a Staff Software Engineer in its Digital Experience Software team to work on a rapid delivery of software product features.


– Architect, Design & Develop customer facing software product(s) including APIs & Web applications

– Lead & Manage a team of engineers to deliver the software Product(s) meeting stakeholder & customer expectations

– Work with global teams to provide solution/technical design for portal and web applications;

– Interact with Customers, Product managers and cross functional teams to understand requirements and provide detail technical assessment including estimates

– Participate in the governance process of portal product strategy/roadmap/execution plan

– Drive architecture discussions and translate them to appropriate solution/technical design

– Communicate architecture/solutions to Technical Architecture Review Board and other business & technology leaders

– Define best practices and standards for APIs, Web application development & DevOps to streamline the continuous development & delivery of feature(s)

– Participate in Release Management process and align the cross-functional teams to deliver a product feature

– Be able to prepare & present executive class presentations for the new/existing product idea(s)/enhancement(s) to Engineering leadership

– Work with minimal supervision and be able to escalate issues in a timely manner


– A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or foreign equivalent) and 7+ years of experience in the job offered, or a related software engineering occupation

– Must be highly skilled in one or more CMS (Content Management System) such as Vignette/Opentext, Oracle Fatwire/web center sites, dotCMS, Adobe CQ, Liferay

– Must be adept with programming languages such as C/Java, Node JS, PHP, XSLT, XML

– Must show high level of proficiency in open source frameworks such as Angular JS, React, JQuery, Dojo, Servlets, Struts, JSF, Spring MVC, J2EE, Portal, JSR-286 based portal, JGroup, OSGI

– Must be extremely through in scripting languages such as JSP, JavaScript, Apache Velocity, Python, Linux Shell, bash, Batch

– Must exhibit competency in utilizing and debugging in browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari and IE

– Should have wide knowledge and experience in the areas of IDE such as Eclipse, IntelliJ, RAD, MS Visio and MS Office tools

– Should have immense potential to use and configure applications servers such as Apache Tomcat, BEA WebLogic, WebSphere, Vignette Portal Server, JBoss

– Should be well-versed in web proxies such as Apache, NGINX

– Should have high proficiency in COTs product such as Vignette Content Management Server, dotCMS, Oracle Fatwire/Webcenter

– Must exhibit high level of proficiency in RDBMS skills such as Oracle, MySQL, MSSql and Postgres

– Must have good understanding and experience in NoSQL database and caches such as Mongo, Cassandra, Redis, Guava, Elastic/Solr/ Lucene

– Must have solid understanding and sound experience in Big Data technology such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Spark etc

– Must have very good at coding, code review, POCs to arrive at decision point to choose right technology, implementing design patterns and SOLID design principles, follow SDLC process such as Agile/Scrum and Waterfall, DevOps Principles including CI/CD aspects, Jenkins, Rundeck

– Must have solid interpersonal and soft skills such as customer focus, self-learner / motivator, multitasker, enthusiasm/optimism and adaptability towards change, take pressure under tight deadlines, challenge business requirements, mentoring and interaction with global and cross functional skills

– Must be highly proficient in Distributed Architecture such as SOA and SOA principles, web services micro services, global transaction management

– Must have solid experience in asynchronous messaging such as JMS and sound knowledge on distributed messaging such as Kafka
