Senior Web Developer

Denver, CO Blood Systems


Under minimum supervision, this position is responsible for assisting in the discovery, development, implementation, and support of software applications across BSI, its affiliates and business units. Responsible for full software development lifecycle including new development, design and troubleshooting. Troubleshoots and supports applications and processes. This role will work with various teams across the organization to deliver quality application services and support information systems enablement.


  • Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Brings compliance issues to the attention of management.
  • Assures quality customer service to all customers.
  • Maintains good attendance and punctuality per the absence policy.
  • Leads research and analysis for requests for change and assists in leading the activities required to complete the work order.
  • Leads activities for development efforts to meet deadlines.
  • Leads solution-focused proof of concept designs around new data technologies and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Produces detailed and accurate estimates for time required to review technical specifications, perform design reviews, code reviews and unit testing for assigned projects and tasks.
  • Ensures appropriate documentation complies with web software development standards, policies and procedures or best practices.

  • Works closely with other functions within IT (e.g. Architecture, Infrastructure, Business Analysts, and Quality Assurance) to ensure the highest quality software.
  • Interfaces with end-users to ensure their requirements are met.
  • Remains abreast of changes and developments in the blood banking industry related to regulations and standards and provides direction to implement required changes. Establishes and maintains a network of professional relationships.
  • Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Adequate knowledge of relation database system and Object Oriented programming required.
  • Understanding of full software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies required.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • SharePoint site collection administrator skill set preferred.

Licenses/ Certifications



  • Five years of work experience required.
  • Experience with source control software.
  • Proven working experience in web programming and customization with Content Management Systems and WEB UI/UX.
  • Proven working experience with ASP.NET, C#, MVC, and Entity Framework.
  • Proven working experience with CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, jQuery and HTML.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of an application development team; create structure code for integration into larger systems and document work for maintenance.
  • Consuls internal team members and external customers on the design, development and management of websites.
  • Knowledge must include architectural design, web parts development, management and troubleshooting with a focus on planning, deploying and supporting enterprise SharePoint implementations.
  • SharePoint experience must include custom workflows, navigation customization and some branding customization.
  • Must have experience creating comprehensive solutions with SharePoint technologies.
  • Experience working with SharePoint and Web Parts.


  • Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must have analytical, statistical, personal organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and participates as an active team member.
  • Must have proficient computer skills.
  • Able to organize, prioritize, and execute a variable workload and multiple priorities.
