TI s Fab Information Technology (IT) team provides a unique
opportunity to be part of a dynamic and rapidly growing company. Here,

effective use of IT technology and applications that solve factory
problems. You ll immediately see the results of your efforts
benefiting our customers.
In this dynamic role, you ll design, develop, install and support
semiconductor manufacturing applications including equipment
automation, Probe / Assembly / Test automation systems, process
control, fault detection, material handling, and decision support.
You ll work with factory engineers to understand, analyze and specify
system requirements and benefits for software projects. And you ll
also support software applications in a high-availability
manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science,
with a strong educational foundation in data structures, algorithms,
object-oriented concepts and software engineering processes. Because
much of TI s factory software runs under the Unix/Linux operating
system, experience working in Unix development environments is a plus.
Programming experience with several programming languages in class
projects or work environments, including C, C++, and Java, are needed.
An understanding of software development methodologies and software
engineering processes in group project or work settings is also
needed.
This engineer must be comfortable with runtime computing
infrastructure for software applications in a distributed, networking
environment. Excellent communication skills are necessary for
effective verbal interaction and presentations and written
documentation.

About the Job
Design, develop, install, modify, and support new and existing
applications, equipment monitoring, material handling, and decision
support capabilities.
Follow software process and contribute to technical architecture for
a variety of manufacturing applications. Drive improvements to impact
quality of applications.
Work with factory organizations and vendors to understand, analyze,
and define system requirements and modifications.
Support production applications in a 724 manufacturing environment.
Assist with business engagement with factory leadership to enable
better communication and also manage prioritization and execution of
projects
Partner with IT Operations (Infrastructure) team
Engage with customer teams for requirements signoff and User
Acceptance Test approval
Track project status against commitments and work with developers on
completing projects to meet customer needs
Respond to factory support escalations and follow up on support
issues to help identify and correct root cause
Technical Abilities
Software development using UNIX/LINUX operating system
Experience with a variety of programming
Minimum qualifications:
BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
