Function: Software Engineer (Airborne Flight Critical and Ground Test Software)
Responsible for the development of flight critical software following DO-178C guidelines and ground based test stand software.
Essential job functions: Essential job functions: 1. Responsible for developing flight critical software in accordance with DO-178C guidelines. Develop the software requirements, design and code and verify the software produced against the requirements using Requirements Based Tests (RBT). Tracing requirements to design to code (and the reverse) as well as requirements to test cases (and the reverse).
2. Responsible for developing ground based test stand software using dSpace and Python to test electronic boxes and electro-hydraulic actuation systems. Software development will be a relaxed form of DO-178C with a minimum of software requirements, code and verification.
3. Software: C and Python languages a must and dSpace (ControlDesk and AutomationDesk) experience highly desired. LabVIEW experience is a plus.
Documentation: DOORS for requirements as well as Microsoft Office.
Required skills: Required skills: Candidate must be proficient in software development using C, Python and dSpace (LabVIEW experience a plus). Must be knowledgeable using Windows applications such as Visio, Word and other Microsoft Office tools. Must be willing to take direction and execute assignments as asked. Must be self-motivated and willing to take ownership of assignments and look for ways to execute on time and on budget. Must be willing to report status to Project leads.
Education: Education: Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering and 5 or more years of experience in the areas listed above preferred.
