The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a highly-motivated Software Engineer (Level 1) to join the Boeing Guidance Repair Center (BGRC) located in Heath, OH. This position will design and develop test
equipment software in support of the Minuteman Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) program test equipment, and will be responsible for the Gyro Stabilized Platform (GSP) Fine Balance computer re-host program.

Primary Responsibilities
Your duties as an engineer will include (but are not limited to):

* Assists with the development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems

* Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system

* Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met

* Supports software project management and software supplier management functions

* Selects, tailors and deploys processes and tools; Establishes metrics

* Performs software research and trade studies

* Troubleshoots software issues

* Work under the supervision of a senior engineer who will be available for guidance and mentorship

Engineer will diagnose and correct software deficiencies in Test Equipment software, roll out new software for updated COTS platforms (re-host) that interfaces with existing hardware. Software engineer may be responsible for developing software in support of new and existing test stations to support new functionality and meet all current software design methodologies utilizing Microsoft Windows SDK, FORTRAN, Visual Basic, Visual C++, LabWindows/CVI, C#, .NET, LabVIEW, Java, and Linux platforms for the Boeing Guidance and Repair Center.

Engineer will be responsible for defining and designing interfaces, coding new software utilizing the UML approach for software architecture design and development. Creating and implementing test plans, correcting design deficiencies and reporting on progress of those changes. Recommends simple non-destructive test procedures, tools, standards.

Qualifications

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree or higher

* Coursework and/or experience in programming with Labview software

* Experience with C++

* Software / Hardware Interface & Integration Experience

Desired / Preferred Skills:

* Experience with Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM)

* Preferred degrees are Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, and Electrical Engineering

Typical Education / Experience:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor’s and 2 or more years’ experience or a Master’s degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
