SQL DB Engineer What’s the Role: The ATI IT department strives to add measurable value to the business by creating and executing innovative and cost effective IT solutions that profoundly improve the day to day lives of our patients, customers, and employees. You’ll be a champion of ATI’s culture and values, partnering with our business leaders to help build the organizations SQL DB environment. You are focused on running plays that ensure availability and performance of the entire database environment. Your Purpose at ATI: You are a member of our innovative and cutting edge IT department ensuring availability of the SQL DB environment. You will support projects by delivering database infrastructure as required, proactively monitor database activities and provide monthly health reports. In addition, you will perform test backups periodically and we will look to you to evaluate new tools and SQL versions. Providing support to the application development team with code deployments and enhancements are critical to this role. On-call support for the SQL DB environment is required. What’s Cool About This Job: You will be responsible for monitoring performance characteristics and tune, modify, and/ or make necessary changes to maintain required performance levels. Work with the application development team with code deployments and enhancements. Define and maintain hardware and software lifecycle plan. Plan and apply patches, bug fixes, code enhancements as supplied by vendor. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation. Plan and manage upgrades as required. Must be able to effectively interface with team members within PMO, App Dev, Ops. What You Need to be Successful: The ability to solve problems and get to the root cause of any issue, no matter how complex, and design and quickly implement solutions. At least 7 years of experience in a SQL database environment. Proficiency in SQL 2014 Standard. Hands-on experience with replication and HA. Familiarity with SQL performance monitoring tool Idera. Understanding of virtualized environments (HyperV). Experience working within Agile App Dev environments. Strong understanding of ETL process (SSIS, Stored procedures) and SSRS.
