Job Location: Washington, D.C. Area Position Title: System Architect Position Summary: Leonardo DRS is seeking an exceptionally qualified Systems Architect to join our recognized team of experts to provide a solution for the U.S. Air Forces T-X program. Leonardo DRS ties together an exceptional T-100 Team comprised of Leonardo Aircrafts world class aircraft powered by Honeywell engines integrated with state-of the-art ground-based training from CAE USA. The T-100 is purpose-built for a wide range of training capabilities, long-term reliability, and cost effective operations. These characteristics along with its proven integrated training system comprised of Simulators and Ground Based Training devices make the T-100 the best solution to train todays next generation of fighter pilots. As a member of the SEIT, the System Architect will establish interface standards for use across the family of systems, chair working groups, and manage the interfaces between the T-100 ITS elements as well as its external interfaces. Duties and Responsibilities: * Serve as the customer and external stakeholder organization contact point for interface related discussions. * Chair program interface working groups. * Establish interface standards across the T-100 ITS and arbitrate interface issues. * Develop and document processes and procedures for managing the T-100 ITS interfaces. * Ensure that open architecture standards are being applied across the T-100 ITS where practical * Create and maintain interface ICDS for the T-100 ITS external interfaces. * Participate in design reviews. Basic Qualifications: * Masters Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical or Systems engineering preferred with a minimum of 10 years combined experience working for a DoD fixed wing platform provider. * Minimum of 10 years hands-on experience as an individual contributor or leading teams in a systems/project engineering or system design capacity. * Military fixed wing, high performance aircraft development or modification experience. * 5 years systems engineering experience developing, decomposing and allocating requirements * Working knowledge of open architecture standards, 1553/Ethernet data busses, data links, air traffic surveillance systems, navigation systems, U/VHF radios and USAF mission planning systems. * Experience communicating complex technical projects to highlevel stakeholders. * Experience in International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR). * Experience dealing with the rules and regulations surrounding Sub-Contractor Intellectual Property. * Working knowledge of Earned Value Management on high value programs. * Proficient professional written and verbal communication skills including briefings and presentations to senior leadership and customers. * Proven track record of working with international partners and suppliers to develop and deliver program solutions. * Strong interpersonal skills in order to influence, collaborate and work effectively with all levels of internal and external leadership as part of an international team. * Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally. * Must possess or be able to acquire a Secret Clearance or above.
