ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES: The Team Leader will play a key role in various aspects of patient revenue financial reporting, coordinating and leading the analysts work, acting as a liaison to those higher up, designing and on-going maintenance of the revenue cycle reporting, dashboards and analytics for the revenue cycle departments. Tasks and Deliverables * Monitors monthly operations and deliverables completed by analysts. * Ensures all tasks and deliverables are completed accurately and on time. * Manages/assigns all Ad Hoc request to analysts, ensures the timely and accurate completion of requests. * Helps analysts with complex requests as needed. * Promotes team work, company goals, win-win attitude, performs dedicated actions to achieve tangible results. Reporting and Analysis * Validates revenue cycle department dashboards and analytics. * Reviews financial performance dashboards for various levels within the revenue cycle to drive performance. * Develops and leads complex financial analyses for root cause scrutiny and performance improvement, often utilizing large sets of data from disparate systems. * Collaborates with VPs, Directors and Managers to fill ad hoc reporting and analysis requests. * Designs, maintains and analyzes productivity and metric reporting. * Leads the annual audit review. Project Management * Develops and executes implementation tasks for assigned projects. * Leads the testing, validation and post implementation of assigned projects and ensures project goals are met. * Directs and manages dashboard and report development throughout the projects lifecycle. * Partners with sponsors and stakeholders within the technology and business units. * Establishes project milestones / schedules, maintain & report project status, and monitor progress of all team members. * Develops training materials and documentation for end users. Liaison and Department Representative * Works with VPs, Directors and Managers across the organization to provide data and analyses that support decisions for organization-wide process improvement initiatives, monthly financial close, annual budget process, root cause analyses. * Represents department and supports revenue cycle initiatives, including the Denials and Defects Committee and Enterprise System Implementations (i.e., Epic, GE, etc.). * Prepares presentations for senior leadership describing complex processes, concepts or analyses in a concise, professional manner. Manages Reporting Vendor Relationships * Contributes to planning and implementation of reporting needs, expectations with external resources. * Develops and manages working relationships with third party reporting vendors. * Provides ongoing validation and reconciliation of data within applications. * Develop deep understanding of data extracts and how data layers are stitched together. * Works with IT and vendor to make necessary changes to data extracts. * Troubleshoots data discrepancies. * Trains new users throughout the organization with various technical skills to utilize applications. Unbilled and Denials Management * Monitors unbilled and Denials trend for hospital and professional performances and communicates with customers when unusual trends are identified. * Audits denials in SDK and GE to identify stagnant accounts as needed. * Monitors hospital denials and escalates areas of concern to PFS Management; when concerns involve other departments, notifies and works with those departments to understand the cause for the increase in denial inventory. * Identifies denial trends by payer, type, etc. Business Intelligence (BI) System – VisiQuate * Ensures BMC systems and the BI tool reconciliation is successfully completed. Troubleshoots/resolves issues if any. * Coordinates, communicates, and schedules the necessary updates and enhancements in the BI tool. * Ensures system anomalies are reported to Support team. * Communicates planned or unplanned disruption of service to end users in a timely manner. Works closely with the BI team to ensure disruption is resolved as soon as possible. * Manages the development and modification of new business intelligence modules in VisiQuate. Is responsible for the implementation /maintenance of the new modules, for documenting business process procedures; is responsible for providing end user training. User Training and Other Duties: * Responsible for establishing and maintaining a training curriculum for all users of VisiQuate modules. Responsible for developing customized training courses and materials based on different user groups (billing clerks, team leaders, managers, etc.). * Creates customized reports as requested by system users, and trains core users on report writer tools. * Devises and recommends new or modified database structure to improve financial and statistical reporting. JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree required; preferably in Finance or related field. Masters in Business Administration preferred CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: None EXPERIENCE: Five years professional experience in financial analysis, budgeting, accounting, or planning function in a healthcare-related setting. 3-4 years supervisory experience preferred. Desire strong leadership and supervisory skills with an ability to identify and implement continuous process improvement as appropriate. Minimum of one year of project Management or supervisory experience. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: * Able to produce clear financial and operational analyses of complex issues. * Highly analytical thinking with demonstrated talent for identifying, scrutinizing, improving and documenting complex work processes. * Advanced MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills. * Advanced MS Access, proficiency in Visual Basic for Applications (Excel and Access) and SQL strongly preferred. * Experience working with and designing databases, preferably MS Access, and knowledge of information systems and healthcare applications in addition to report writing software. * Experience with medical software systems including Epic and GE Centricity preferred. * Experience using Lawson or other financial application systems preferred. * Experience training others in systems use and analysis concepts. * Proficiency translating and communicating key analyses results, methodologies, and assumptions concisely to Senior Management for decision making. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Superior interpersonal skills to effectively work and communicate with all levels of Management inside and outside Finance. * Effective working individually and on departmental and cross-functional teams. * Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced constantly changing environment. * Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends when required to achieve assigned project deadlines. * Knowledge of health care finance, revenue cycle, and delivery systems preferred but not required.
