About the Position:
Extension and International Programs collaborates with University departments and colleges on unique programs for students from the community and around the world. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as an Analyst/Programmer-Expert. Under the general direction of the Director of Extension and International Programs-Information Technology, the Analyst/Programmer-Expert is responsible for planning, designing, development, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting and documentation of moderately complex and complex applications for Extension and International Programs (EIP). Programs and develops EIP's databases and front-end applications to support business needs. Works with campus staff and campus community on developing interfaces from various campus applications in the EIP database. Writes custom server applications and services to support EIP's website, online registration and business applications. Responsible for requirements gathering, analyzing alternate solutions and impact on associated applications, working as a consultant to end users in making the right decisions and working with a team of programmers to accomplish the assigned projects results. Responsible for providing ongoing maintenance to existing systems, web and windows applications and databases. Provides network support and work station support as needed. Provides EIP's departments with technical expertise in developing tools for providing reports and extracting data. Provides assistance and support for other team members. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field plus five years of relevant full-time experience. Twelve years of relevant full-time experience may be substituted for the previously listed education and experience requirement.

Advanced knowledge of the work area demonstrated by an understanding and use of the advanced principles and theories. Ability to integrate and apply work related knowledge to achieve innovative solutions. Ability to anticipate the impact of problems and solutions on other systems. Ability to investigate and research new systems and technologies and develop complex information technology systems and solutions. Ability to understand problems from a broad perspective and explore, conceive, and implement solutions and ideas in new ways. Ability to predict and anticipate problems and be proactive when creating solutions. Demonstrated communication expertise using persuasion and negotiation. Ability to lead technical team efforts and assess skills within a team while working to build on individual strengths to maximize team results. Ability to teach and transfer knowledge and skills to others.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field. Previous experience in a PeopleSoft environment. Experience in a higher education setting Working knowledge of Salesforce CRM and development environment.

License/ Certification: Valid California driver's license and independent means of transportation; may be required to travel to off-site vendors or business functions.

Special Working Conditions: Must be able to work in an environment with a high degree of distraction, rapidly changing priorities, and an open, shared workspace. Must be able to work a flexible schedule when needed, including evenings and weekends.
