DUTIES: Contribute to the Digital Home Verification Team responsible for testing new features and fixing bugs for the Xfinity Home Security and Home Automation products for Comcast and Syndication partners; plan, coordinate, and execute software test plans for CPE devices (Home Security touchscreens, RDKB Gateways) within customer homes by analyzing code changes to determine scope of testing required to perform User Acceptance, Progression, and Regression testing; utilize Xfinity Home platform back-end and customer mobile apps to facilitate end-to-end testing; certify home security devices against Security Industry Association (SIA) standards, including UL and CP01; develop and maintain internal test harness tools and automation to test home security products and firmware releases, using REST API and Python; test the Zigbee protocol stack; work with Zigbee network map, jamming conditions, and channels; work with over-the-air network packet capture; test 3G and LTE cellular communication protocols; perform quality assurance activities within an Agile development environment and within embedded UNIX operating systems; test cases and automation scripts to ensure code quality; create and present technical documentation for software tests; coordinate with peers in the local and offshore Xfinity Home QA team to maintain high level of efficiency and consistency; work across the Xfinity Home and Connected Living teams to perform end-to-end testing of the new Xfinity home automation product; collaborate with Development team, Product, and Program teams to give input on code testability, issues seen by the QA team, and production code release schedules using the Agile SDLC process; and assist the QA manager in process improvements, implementing best practices, and ensuring the team follows them consistently.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or any related technical field, and two (2) years of experience planning, coordinating, and executing software test plans; certifying home security devices against Security Industry Association (SIA) standards, including UL and CP01; developing and maintaining internal test harness tools and automation to test home security products and firmware releases, using REST API and Python; testing the Zigbee protocol stack; working with Zigbee network map, jamming conditions, and channels; working with over-the-air network packet capture; testing 3G and LTE cellular communication protocols; of which one (1) year includes creating and presenting technical documentation for software tests; performing quality assurance activities within an Agile development environment; and working with embedded UNIX operating systems.
