Associate Data Scientist

scientist will perform complex analysis and build sophisticated predictive
models to generate knowledge about customers, products and operations answering
strategic and operational questions that require advanced data-driven

* Develop and maintain predictive models using data mining and SPSS
statistical tools
* Validate that data sources meet requirements of the effort and outcomes
* Analyze data quality identifying improvements and solutions for data gaps
* Develop a deep understanding and working knowledge of all Ascensus data
sources purpose, structure and definitions
* Regularly use complex data and algorithms
* Effectively execute CRISP-DM methodology with project teams optimizing
predictive model lift
* Perform complex data analyses, segmentation and profiling of expansive
data sources
* Apply business and predictive modeling expertise to identify underlying
* Work closely with subject matter experts to translate manual data
analysis into automated analytics, resulting in faster more meaningful
data extraction for users
* Establish model schedules or invoke real time through workflow and other
application integration
* Maintain and enhance predictive models. Identify and recommend
* Prepare and deliver presentations detailing results of analytics
* Provide analytics and model recommendation insight
* Adhere to and recommend improvements to data governance
* Advanced analytics: the ability to apply appropriate analytical
techniques and translate findings into actionable business insights and
* Database technologies: understanding of data warehousing concepts, with
the ability to write complex SQL statements to store, retrieve,
manipulate, integrate, validate, and summarize data
* Strong communications skills: both verbal and written, with the ability
to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences

the ability to network with internal business partners across the
* Bachelor s degree in a quantitative or technical field, such as
computer science, mathematics, engineering, or economics
* Solid business acumen with the ability to quickly learn about Ascensus
products, services, clients and business considerations. Ability to
obtain valuable information and insight through dialog with SMEs.
* Time Management/Prioritization Ability to manage time with
conflicting priorities to ensure all deliverables are met. Responsibility
to manage own tasks.
* Initiative/Work Ethic Drives efforts to completion setting and
managing personal goals. Proactively seeks out opportunities to ensure
successful outcomes.
* 3 years of experience at Ascensus, a like business or in data analytics
* Prior involvement in Predictive Analytics and/or use of SPSS modeler
* Experience with data mining and reporting Understanding of database
and structure
