The Research Application Design and Development (R) Team is the software development unit of the Northwestern University Institute for Sexual and Gender Minority Health and Wellbeing (ISGMH; *********************************** ISGMH is a university-wide institute dedicated to fostering research that improves the health and wellbeing of the sexual and gender minority communities. It currently has multiple NIH- and foundation-funded studies and actively collaborates with community-based organizations to conduct research and translate findings into interventions. The R team develops the innovative technologies and health-based interventions utilized by the ISGMH faculty, their collaborators and tens of thousands of end-users nationwide.

Collaborates with user to develop work flow and best practices.
Assists in all stages of the project, starting from the initial planning stages.
Responds to inquiries via phone, online, in-person, etc.
Creates and maintains software/process/support documentation.
Routes more complex requests for features/upgrades/changes to appropriate senior staff/management.
Participates in team/project meetings.
Identifies database and software performance issues and makes adjustments.
Assists with design, development, and maintenance.
Tests and debugs software.
Writes programs according to specifications from senior staff.
Codes software applications adhering to designs that support internal business requirements or external user.
Competes tier 3 troubleshooting.
Prioritizes assigned tasks.
Opens help tickets with vendors.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor’s or higher degree in a major such as computer science, information technology, or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
