Job Summary

The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for providing the software development and maintenance of business intelligence, as well as reporting and analytic applications for SERVPRO initiatives. This person will work closely with Management, Project Managers, Database Administrators and requestors to provide application support to assigned lines of business and applications.

You will

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the Franchise/customer experience.
  • Architect the solution to ensure the solution fits the operating environment and integrates with other systems.
  • Review business requirements and provide an estimate of the hours required to develop the requirements.
  • Build the solution in a consistent manner to meet the business requirements.
  • Unit test each software component to ensure it performs the functions needed for the business requirements.
  • Migrate new applications from the developer’s workstation to the test servers.
  • Remove defects discovered during new application development testing.
  • Migrate new tested applications from the test servers to the production servers.
  • Provide application support to assigned lines of business and applications. This includes handling initiatives and small development requests, resolving issues and removing defects.
  • Ensure that all technical application artifacts are archived in vaults such as Team Foundation Server or SharePoint.
  • Record time spent performing assigned work orders in a timely and accurate manner. Submit weekly employee status report by close of business the first business day following that week.
  • Attend scheduled meetings for SERVPRO, Information Services, and Developers.
  • Complete the assigned initiative tasks assigned for the quarter in a timely and accurate manner
  • Provide strategy, design, and direction for software development initiatives, including existing system enhancements, new system development, web-based initiatives, and system conversions, with an emphasis on business intelligence and reporting.
  • Provide periodic status reports as requested.
  • Participate in planning and prioritization sessions as required.

You have

  • 1+ years technology related experience required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner.
  • Minimum of 1 year successful experience and ability in software code and business systems development, resulting in superior technical and business deliverables.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft development environment including Visual Basic, VB.NET, ACCESS, SQL Server, T-SQL, ASP, ASP.NET and .NET Web Services. Prefer .NET and XML experience.
  • Ability to provide superior code development and programming for complex projects and assignments concurrently, good written skills, positive attitude and initiative, high degree of analytical and interpersonal skills, and teamwork approach.
  • Understanding and success in applying development efforts to achieve business objectives and revenue goals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Business-related field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma and related experience required.
