Introduction
Overview
We are seeking a Data Engineer Intern who will participate in and contribute to project and operational work under the guidance of experienced IT professionals. This role is ideal for individuals beginning their careers and eager to build strong technical, analytical, and communication skills in a professional environment.
How you’ll make an impact
- Develop and modify SQL queries to for data exploration, transformation, and analysis
- Use Python and Azure Data Factory to automate workflows and perform analytical tasks
- Use AI assisted tools like GitHub Copilot to help with software development
- Participate in data quality checks, validation processes, and troubleshooting
About You
Required:
- Basic knowledge of SQL for querying, transforming, and analyzing data
- Experience with Python for scripting, automation, or data processing
- Understanding of ETL concepts, data warehousing, or data pipeline workflows (coursework or academic projects acceptable)
- Familiarity with version control tools such as Git
- Familiarity with AI assisted coding tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field
- Exposure to cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, or GCP) through coursework or projects
- Understanding of data modeling concepts or relational database design, data engineering
