Information Technology Change Control and Management (aka – ITIL Change Management Process) activities including identifying, analyzing and controlling configuration changes to hardware, software, documentation, and other configuration item changes.
Ensuring the integrity of the Production Environment through the creation of standard policy, procedures, and processes.
Demonstrates and enforces adherence to defined policy, procedures, and processes
Promoting and adhering to UH-defined and industry best-practices (e.g., ITIL framework) for all IT Change Management and Process Governance related activities.
Managing recurring IT Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, including monitoring attendance, facilitating discussions regarding specific proposed changes, and ensuring appropriate disposition of all changes brought to the IT CAB.
Monitoring compliance with IT Change Management and Governance processes, investigating incidents of non-compliance, and initiating remediation or escalating incidents of non-compliance to IT management.
Evaluating proposed changes to policies, processes, and requests for exceptions from approved policies and processes for specific changes.
Overseeing training of IT personnel on the basics of UH’s change management processes.
Cultivation and delivery of process related reporting to IT Leaders related to the Change Management process.
Development and reporting of key performance indicators for the effectiveness of the IT Change Management process.
Facilitates communications between process users, IT customers, peers, and IT leadership.
Coordinates the development and approval of pre-approved change controls for definable, repeatable, low risk change activities.
Serves as an escalation point for the IT Change Management process within the organization.
Develop and maintain detailed change control process related documentation.
Participate in major initiatives that have impact to the IT Change Management process.
Ensure IT leadership is fully informed of IT change management and governance related activities.
Partner with other related ITIL based process activities.
Analyze impact of changes on the UH IT environment and customers to determine early life failures.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the IT or business unit role with an IT focus (e.g., Application Development, Systems Administration, Security Administration and/or Network Operations.) required.
Experienced in IT Service Management — with focus in such process discipline areas as Configuration, Request, Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
Experience as a defined Process Owner of areas such as Incident, Problem, or Change Management preferred.
1-2 years of experience managing teams and projects of increasing complexity preferred.
Formally regulated industry experience within a financial or medical setting desired.
Experience working with a highly-matrixed, geographically dispersed team. This experience should include facilitating meetings with multiple senior stakeholder with competing objectives, and the ability to drive the group towards a consensus.
Required Minimum Skills:
Demonstrated ability to independently guide staff and troubleshoot complex issues.
Knowledge of Enterprise Tools to create and manage projects that define change processes required.
Significant knowledge of Information Technology Change Management and Governance best practices (e.g., ITIL framework), and the ability to teach and promote those best practices to others, required.
Basic knowledge of IT Change Management Policy required.
Good knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle Methodology required.
Must be proficient with Project Management skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
