JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for an experienced CNC Programmer to design, develop, and write CNC programs, to engineer and design tooling and fixtures to facilitate and optimize manufacturing processes.

LOCATION: Columbia, CT

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Design, develop, document, analyze, write and test Turning/CNC programs to manufacture quality parts on schedule for a minimum cost.
  • Interface with members of engineering, production, and customers to resolve problems, make clarifications or make modifications to blueprint and/or other customer supplied data.
  • Design and engineer tooling for CNC lathes, mills, and 5-axis production.
  • Interact and consult with machinists and address programming and engineering concerns and problems.
  • Design, develop, document, analyze, write, and test program modifications that will enhance quality and product flow.
  • Interact with inspection personnel to ensure 1st article parts meet customer tolerances and drawing requirements.
  • Determine tooling, set-up, inspection and gage procedures and sketches.
  • Interpret and apply engineering drawings, specifications, sketches, and other documentation.
  • Design and produce CAD (SolidWorks) drawings for immediate manufacturing needs.
  • Develop and determine manufacturing processes and techniques to improve productivity, standardize manufacturing processes, solve production problems, ensure conformance to specifications while keeping manufacturing costs and process times to a minimum.
  • Hands-on involvement in fabrications of fixtures, when needed.
  • Determine procedures for and assist in various aspects of documentation, including manufacturing processes.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of 5 years' of hands-on manufacturing process experience in a machine shop environment. Associate degree and Aerospace industry experience is strongly preferred. Must possess a strong knowledge of blueprints, technical specifications, working in an ISO quality system and must be proficient with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office programs as well as CAD, preferably Solidworks.
