Job Description

Summary of Position:

The Commissioning Project Manager will be primarily responsible for all commissioning and FAT testing for all Optifill projects built in Buffalo Grove. In this capacity, they will work with Controls engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Software Leads, Software developers and Manufacturing to ensure on time delivery of tested system. These systems include, but are not limited to, Opti 1, Opti 2 machines and conveyors. They will also be required to manage projects as the primary Project Manager. The number of simultaneous projects will be assigned depending on size, complexity and testing requirements.

For these assigned projects, the Commissioning Project Manager is the primary interface between the ARxIUM implementation team and the customer. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; serving as the primary customer contact for all implementation activities, designing and coordinating all activities associated with implementing and integrating automated high volume systems, developing and maintaining project schedules, coordinating and scheduling all resources required for the project implementation, and identifying issues impacting the project schedule and resolving them.

Essential Functions:

– Oversees the install team in performing and/or themselves performing testing, tuning, and adjusting to equipment to obtain optimum operating performance. Tests the operation of all components of each system to properly establish service.
– Responsible for inspection of work performed by install teams on site for correctness and completeness.
– Operating the system to demonstrate the equipment and to analyze malfunctions during Factory acceptance Test (FAT) testing
– Is responsible for preparing the equipment and assisting in the completion of the Site acceptance Test (SAT)
– Interprets maintenance manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams
– Analyzes malfunctions in equipment and repairs equipment utilizing knowledge of mechanics/electronics and using standard test instruments and hand tools
– Consults with product support and engineering personnel to determine solutions to unusual problems in the system
– Evaluates information furnished for the job, delivered materials, layout of customer’s premises and practical routes for cable, conduit and/or wiring.
– Promptly reports defective material or equipment, inaccuracies, or omissions in job information
– Follows safety practices to safeguard against injury and damage to property
– Ability to work/travel alone or as part of a team
– Responsible for overall project lifecycle, planning, budget establishment and accountability
– Responsible for review and revision of detailed project requirements (system layouts, technical design, pricing models) prior to contract finalization
– Provide assistance in other duties as assigned for supporting Development, Test, Service, and Marketing/Sales process and needs; this may include travel to customer sites on short notice
– Performs related and/or other duties as assigned.

– Understanding of PLC based electro-mechanical automated systems

– Knowledge of MS applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project
– Good AutoCad skills
Education and Experience:

– Engineering degree or equivalent experience
– Min. 3 – 5 years field experience as a Field Service Engineer, Commissioning Engineer or equivalent in an electro-mechanical or automation field

– Ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
