We are in need of a Controller to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background within construction/development, coupled with experience in QuickBooks, Yardi, Appfolio, Buildium, or something similar. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our company’s financial and accounting functions. This is a full-time position that requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all financial operations within the company, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Implement and maintain all necessary systems and controls to ensure the smooth operation of the financial department.
  • Prepare and present regular financial reports to the management team, highlighting any significant issues or trends.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
  • Manage and oversee the use of QuickBooks, Yardi, Appfolio, Buildium, and other software within the company.
  • Work closely with the management team to develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth.
  • Oversee and manage the company’s cash flow, ensuring that all financial obligations are met on time and within budget.
  • Develop and implement effective financial risk management strategies.
  • Liaise with external auditors and manage the audit process.
  • Provide financial advice and guidance to the management team, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA highly preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience in using QuickBooks, Yardi, Appfolio, Buildium.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes.
  • Excellent financial management skills, with a proven ability to manage budgets and forecasts.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a proven ability to interpret and analyze financial data.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to make sound financial decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a proven ability to work accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills, with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
