Data Center Engineer Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) Engineer – TS/SCI

At GDIT, people are our differentiator.  As a Data Center Engineer supporting the Government, you will be a part of a team charged with engineering solutions for lifecycle of data centers, setup & maintenance, electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety etc. within parameters of the customer facilities. 

 In this role, a typical day may include: 

  • Provide engineering oversight and design support for data center infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with a variety of IT hardware, such as servers, cables, power systems, and cooling equipment, needed to maintain the physical safety of an IT facility
  • Provide Tier 3 support for installation, configuration, implementation, integration, and commissioning of physical infrastructure such as equipment racks and supporting power, cooling, and cabling infrastructure
  • Deploying and supporting Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) Systems hardware and software products within a large-scale enterprise; including special projects
  • Developing and generating specifications, RFPs, ROMs and SOWs for projects and life-cycle upgrades
  • Responding to design escalation procedures for complex system malfunctions and outages
  • Designing and implementing change control processes and providing resolution for capability requests
  • Traveling to data center locations in support of pre-engineering, implementation, startup testing, and commissioning of infrastructure projects as needed

WHAT YOU’LL NEED: 

  • Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain and maintain a CI poly. 
  • Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following:  Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience. 
  • Experience managing and designing DCIM Systems to manage and protect the data center infrastructure, capture power usage, calculate available capacity, and provide relevant, real-time alarms, notifications, and reports to data center operators and end users
  • Experience with Linux server system administration duties
  • Experience implementing NIST security controls and (DoD) Risk Management Framework (RMF) process accreditation procedures
  • Experience integrating with Host Based Security System (HBSS), Splunk, Solar Winds, Service Now and other upper-level management systems
  • Knowledge of variety of Commercial off the shelf (COTS) DCIM and data center management systems
  • Experience with APC NetBotz data center environmental monitoring solutions
  • Experience with Struxureware Data Center Expert (DCE), Data Center Operations (DCO) and IT Advisor (ITA)

DESIRED:

  • Linux certification(s) such as Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) are a plus
  • DCCA (Data Center Certified Associate) certification

The likely salary range for this position is $116,979 – $143,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
