This is a 2nd/3rd shift Data Center Operator II position. What does that mean? Its normally a 2nd shift position (3PM-1145PM), M-F; however, when 3rd shift (1115PM-8AM) requests PTO, 3rd shift is covered by 1 of the (2) 2nd Shift Operators.

The Data Center Operator II provides support, service request, incident and problem management to ensure performance and availability SLA/OLAs are being met. The Data Center supports operational services to client departments, both Business users and other IT staff, and external customers to ensure timely and accurate production of information. Assists to ensure maximum computer operations effectiveness, quality of work, reliable data communications service, and data security. Ensures the procedures of Corporate Change Management are followed for change activity. They will work to assist with Monitoring, Support, and Tracking for all enterprise Operational systems, corresponding software, operating systems, and peripherals. Focused on sustainability, the needs of the organization and long-term corporate/departmental strategic objectives to ensure a secure and stable operational environment.

ITIL Foundations Certification

SolarWinds IPMonitor, VMWare, vCenter, and/or Splunk

JAMS Scheduling Software

JCL/TSO/ISPF

IMS/CICS/DB2/VSAM/VTAM

z/OS

Basic knowledge of standard File Transfer Protocols: HTTPS, HTTP, FTP, FTPS, SFTP
3 years industry experience as a Data Center Operator/Technician

2 years of directly related experience relating to the mainframe and distributed computing environments
