Lundbeck US is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and experienced individual for the position of Data Scientist AI Analytics, Strategy & Activation. This individual will leverage AI analytics to support the implementation of Lundbeck US’s AI strategy and activation that is aligned with business goals driven by portfolio strategic priorities. This individual will also have responsibilities in identifying opportunities to utilize AI for innovation and growth across Lundbeck US.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Design, train, test, and implement AI/ML models and algorithms to optimize existing processes across business units by leveraging state-of-the-art machine learning techniques, including neural networks, reinforcement learning, and unsupervised learning, to solve complex business problems.
- Conduct thorough data exploration and preprocessing to identify features to improve model performance and fine-tune the model for production environments to meet operational goals.
- Maintain model performance after deployment and implement improvements to address evolving business needs.
- Coordinate and manage daily activities of vendor support or technical staff effectively by interpreting customer/business needs and translating to technical requirements for the team. Provides direct guidance when technical issues arise.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning research, and proactively identify areas where AI solutions can improve efficiency and effectiveness across various business functions.
- Contribute to the development of an AI strategy that aligns with business goals and drives value across various functions.
- Document AI models, methodologies, and processes, ensuring that best practices are shared within the team and the broader organization.
- Partner seamlessly with other members of the Advanced Analytics and Omnichannel Customer Engagement team and identify collaboration opportunity and increase operation efficiency.
- Work with cross-functional teams on business requirement collection, AI solution development and implementation as needed.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS:
- Accredited bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, etc.).
- 4+ years of relevant experience in AI/ML model development, deployment, and optimization for marketing, sales and/or commercial initiatives.
- Strong Proficiency in predictive modeling and machine-learning techniques including cluster analysis, multivariate regression/tree-based analysis, neural networks, reinforcement learning, unsupervised/supervised ML, Bayesian/Monte Carlo/Bootstrapping etc.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
- Hands-on experience with NLP, Deep Learning, and large language models (LLMs).
- Experience in working with cloud platforms and MLOps for model deployment.
- Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
- Ability to tackle complex problems independently, providing practical and scalable AI/ML solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to translate data into business insights.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS:
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
- Experience leading projects or teams and collaborating with non-direct reports to achieve project goals.
- Previous experience working in the pharmaceutical or biotech industries is preferred.
- Strong collaboration skills, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- In-depth experience working with pharmaceutical datasets (first-party patient data, third-party claims, EHR, demand data).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards in the pharmaceutical industry (e.g., GxP, ALCOA+).
TRAVEL:
- Willingness/Ability to travel up to 20% domestically. International travel may be required.
The range displayed is a national range, and if selected for this role, may vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s geographical location, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Salary Pay Range: $150,000 – $175,000 and eligibility for a 15% bonus target based on company and individual performance, and eligibility to participate in the company’s long-term incentive plan.
