Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Database Administrator to join our team in the Annapolis Junction, Maryland. This position is part of a team that provides engineering and Information Technology services to provision, manage, sustain, innovate, modernize, refresh, reengineer, and secure the Nuclear Command and Control (NC2) and Non-NC2 cryptographic production infrastructure.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining the integrity, security and availability of multiple database(s)
  • Performing disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data
  • Administering, maintaining, developing and implementing policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database.
  • Evaluating and recommending available database management system (DBMS) products
  • Performing database and software life-cycle activities to ensure highest level of system performance and availability and compliance with business requirements
  • Performing Database and Application server administration
  • Organizing and formatting data for efficient query and storage processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience or in lieu of degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in maintaining the integrity, security and availability of database(s)
  • Experience in administering, maintaining, and implementing policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database
  • Experience organizing and formatting data for efficient query and storage processes.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining database user accounts
  • Experience performing disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and monitoring of data
  • Experience in the development of policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database(s)
  • Experience evaluating requirements and recommends available DBMS products
  • Experience performing database and software life-cycle activities ensuring highest level of system performance and availability
  • Experience providing server administration with a variety of database products which could include Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, and SYBASE

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Oracle, Postgres, or SYBASE

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Current and active TS/SCI with polygraph based upon a SSBI

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
