Job Summary

The Database Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the database infrastructure for CAI. This role involves creating and maintaining database documentation, ensuring data integrity and security, and optimizing database performance.

Job Description

We are looking for a Database Analyst to design, develop, and maintain the database infrastructure for CAI. This position will be full-time and hybrid in Trenton, NJ.

What You’ll Do

  • Database Design and Documentation:

    • Create and maintain detailed database design documentation, including Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), schema descriptions, normalization forms, logical data models (LDMs), and physical data models (PDMs)

    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary, documenting table descriptions, column definitions, and relationships

  • Database Development and Maintenance:

    • Design, develop, and maintain database schemas, tables, views, indexes, sequences, and other database objects

    • Ensure data integrity and security by implementing appropriate normalization principles and security measures

    • Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and performance monitoring

  • Database Jobs and Scheduling:

    • Create and schedule database jobs for tasks such as backups, indexing, and statistics updates

    • Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure database health and performance

  • Data Governance:

    • Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality and consistency

    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure that the database infrastructure meets their needs

What You’ll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Proven experience as a Database Architect or a similar role

  • Strong knowledge of database design principles and best practices

  • Proficiency in SQL and a relational database management system (DBMS), such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL

  • Experience with data modeling tools and techniques

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

  • Certification in database administration or design

  • Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
