Overview:
GovCIO is seeking a Data Architect to lead a team of data professionals in support of Veterans Affairs ensuring the full lifecycle of the Veteran experience is properly ingested, driving program and process improvements. This position will be fully remote within the United States.
Responsibilities:
Manage the organization’s data infrastructure, which involves the design, implementation and maintenance of technical systems that store, process and analyze data.
- Design the enterprise data management framework
- Implement an overall organizational data strategy aligned with business processes. This includes end-to-end architecture solutions such as data modeling design, database development standards, implementation and management of data warehouses and data analytics systems
- Creates frameworks to track data assets and their flow, dictate their usage, and store and integrate them
- Implement data and database management processes including data ingestion, data transformation and data storage to ensure data quality, integrity and availability
- Work closely with data engineers and stakeholders to achieve data quality and access controls
- Construct data models that visualize the relationships between data entities
- Implementing data strategies that outline the organization’s approach to collecting, storing and analyzing data.
- Ability to understand the business and its objectives and be able to translate complex data concepts into terms that non-technical stakeholders can understand
- Review the data specific portions of architectural designs from other architects for soundness and compliance with established standards
- Responsible for Data Quality
- Responsible for overall implementation of data management tools
- Overall responsible for the Data Catalog
- Sets the standard for data management SOPs based on industry best practices and agency requirements
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific /technical discipline with
- 15 years experience. 4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
- Relevant certifications for cloud environments such as,
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
Microsoft Certified: Azure Engineer Associate (DP-203)

- Exceptional ability to be diplomatic and work with a diverse team of subject matter experts, in a fast-paced environment
Clearance Required
- Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Posted Salary Range: USD $125,000.00 – USD $150,000.00 /Yr.
