Desktop Support Technician

Oceanside, New York South Nassau Communities Hospital

Job Summary:
Desktop Support technician will provide high-level hardware/software break-fix services in a high demand and dynamic environment. Response to all physical technical matters reported by hospital end-users. The technician ensures the end-users are receiving quality, appropriate, and efficient technical assistance both in the hospital and at off-site locations. Must be able to clearly document tickets with full details and update the d technical knowledgebase. Technician must possess excellent customer relation and communication skills with the ability to resolve support issues in a prompt and timely manner.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or High School plus equivalent experience

Job Responsibilites:
Effectively troubleshoot hardware support requests, multi-task, and deliver positive results in a rapid paced and pressurized environment.
Respond and provide high level customer support to requests for technical assistance via phone, email, or via Track-It! ticketing system.
Perform audio/video meeting setups. Proficient with WebEx/GoToMeeting. Knowledge of video conferencing codecs.
Ethernet patching, terminating, and cabling skills required.
Physically diagnose and resolve hardware repairs. Communicate with other MIS teams when escalation is required.
Active Directory.
Repair desktops, laptops, printers and peripheral equipment.
Perform hardware maintenance and upgrades.
Configure and deploy new technical equipment.
Perform daily Data Center and Unit rounding.
Track/route problems/requests and document resolutions within the Track-It! ticketing system.
High degree of knowledge of operating systems and platforms to include LANs, Wi-Fi, software/ hardware, and advanced computer skills needed with hands-on experience with the Microsoft Office suite (2010, 2013, 2016, O365)
High knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7, 10.
Stay current with system information, changes and updates.
Exceptional communication, logistic, and prioritizing skills.
Driven team member-must work well in a team first environment
Travel to off-site meetings for the purpose of computer configuration and user training may be required on occasion.
