Job Description: Raytheon is seeking a candidate to lead the Development Contractor Support (DCS) Software team as part of the Transition IPT on the GPS-OCX Program. This individual will be responsible for analyzing the software support needs of the mission, as well as the existing processes and tools being used within DCS and operations. This individual will then recommend, plan, and implement an approach for performing all software maintenance activities during LCS operations. These activities include software defect workoff, software build, package and deploy activities, and real-time anomaly resolution support. This role will participate in the support and operations phase of the program life cycle by providing planning and preparation leadership across a team comprised of engineers and leads from a multi-contractor team. Responsibilities and scope also include: • Providing status about release content planning and preparation execution activities • Recommending and implementing process and tool improvements to gain efficiencies during software maintenance and support • Become a subject matter expert about the LCS software maintenance lifecycle • Support EVMS planning and reporting at the IPT level • Provide mentoring for junior engineers • Operate under minimal supervision; guidance received relates primarily to general objectives Required Skills: • Technical background in design, development, integration and fielding of large scale systems • Experience executing a software maintenance program • Demonstrated excellence in communications with customers, co-contractors, engineers, and management • Experience in software engineering, and software configuration management, of software intensive systems • Experience in applying technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques to solve problems • Experience in the development and review of software development and maintenance processes • Experience establishing and maintaining working relationship with all levels of the organization, including customers, users, and other peer groups • Experience in risk and opportunity analysis, tracking and mitigation • Experience in the execution of DoD programs • Experience in conducting software engineering, analytical, and trade study activities using structured techniques • Experience with the integration of COTS and/or Free and Open Source Software • Experience preparing and presenting reports and briefings both orally and written • Enthusiastic and energetic performer able to work in a fast-paced, highly visible setting • Self-motivated and capable of performing tasks with limited oversight Desired Skills/Knowledge: • Six Sigma tools and techniques • Experience with the GPS OCX program and OCX development methodologies. • Experience with ClearCase, Jenkins, and Chef Required Education (including Major): B.S./B.A. in Aerospace Engineering, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math and 8 years relevant work experience. 16 years relevant experience can be used In lieu of a degree.
