The Role
This position leads a team of HR Business Partners to support Executive Leadership of the Information Technology business division, and their respective teams. This role will work collaboratively with the HR Business Partner Director team and the People and Engagement Centers of Excellence team to execute and achieve goals. The People and Engagement organization partners with leadership to build industry leading organizational capabilities enabling our members to have access to quality healthcare at affordable prices. As a result, the People and Engagement function has well-formed practices in organizational diagnostics, gap analysis, organization development planning and execution, and talent development.
The HR business partners work with business leaders to drive and execute the overall talent and people strategy of the business, leveraging expertise from the People and Engagement Centers of Excellence including Talent Management and Organization Development (including Leadership and Management development and Diversity and Inclusion), Total Rewards, Strategy & Operations, and Employee Relations. Responsibilities include talent acquisition, talent management, organizational design, workforce planning, year-end compensation and evaluation cycle, and performance management.
The Work
• Serve as a coach and trusted advisor to leaders related to demonstrating the leadership model, ensuring there is a people strategy and human capital plan in place that enables the business plan, organizational development, design and transformation, hiring decisions, promotions, total rewards, employee relations issues, and overall talent management.
• Partner collaboratively with People and Engagement Centers of Excellence in the design and implementation of programs such as people strategy, talent assessment, performance management, leadership development, employee relations, and total reward initiatives to deliver against organizational outcomes.
• Consult with senior business leaders to understand business strategies and challenges; identify key talent and talent gaps; and develop management and leadership capabilities.
• Lead complex strategic initiatives where impact is significant in supporting achieving our business goals; including.
- Influence the design, execution, realignment of the business strategic architecture.
- Lead, plan and execute Human Capital Planning to drive the strategic architecture.
• Leverage business acumen, financial data and market trends to inform the people strategy.
• Execute talent management strategies and programs.
• Consult on business leadership team effectiveness; executive coaching and leadership development processes.
• Model leader behaviors that enable an employee experience that will continue to be the center of what we do, to be Human, Honest, Courageous.
• Bring out the best in others by demonstrating commitment to building a high-performance culture. Drive excellence and empower leaders to build and maintain high performing teams through development and coaching.
• Lead and develop a high performing, solution focused and influential team Human Resources Business Partners. Collaborate with HRBP Director peers, ensure succession of HRBPs to director level roles within HRBP organization or elsewhere in People & Engagement.

Qualifications and Experience
• Human Resources Leadership: A minimum of 6 years of HR leadership experience and 10 years of progressive experience in the HR field, and a successful track record of implementing progressive human resources initiatives that have had a clear impact on the performance of the organization.
• Strong Business and Financial Acumen: An understanding of the business and the ability to anticipate the impact of talent on the future success of the company. Demonstrated ability to connect business and people strategies and lead the development and execution of human capital planning.
• Growth Mindset: Experience scaling teams and capabilities within a dynamic and rapidly evolving growth organization. Brings a lens of future-focused thinking and actioning.
• Best Practices: Brings a mix of thought partnership and operational excellence capabilities.
• Collaboration: Ability to proactively communicate with multiple stakeholders inside the organization, operating comfortably in a highly matrixed environment.

• Achieving Buy-In: Demonstrated success of expert level ability to lead, coach, consult with, and influence business executives towards success and effectiveness in leadership team and workforce capability.
• Travel Requirement: Some travel, primarily in-state, will be required.
• Preferred Credentials: Professional certifications/designations (i.e. PHR, SPHR), coaching certification (i.e. CPC, ACC, PCC).
• Education: A bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, or related field is required; a Master’s degree in OD, OE and/or equivalent experience is preferred.
NOTE – Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
The pay range for this role is: $ 161920.00 to $ 242880.00 for California.
