Electronic Hardware Engineer – Power Supply Design

Across multiple energy-intensive industries, the business provides customers with end-to-end product and service solutions that help ensure the reliability and protection of their electrical infrastructure.The Electronic Hardware Engineer – Power Supply Design will design power supply products for telecommunications, high-end computing, data- center and industrial applications, leading the product development process from concept through introduction into high volume production. Besides New Product Introduction, other projects will include Direct Material Productivity, assist design and QA teams in resolving customer issues, and sustaining existing products.

Professionals ( > 2 years of work experience)

As an Electronic Hardware Engineer – Power Supply Design, you will:
* Assist in evaluating product requirements
* Analyze designs including control loops using Mathcad, modeling & simulation
* Support and Assist in sustaining Product Long Lifecycle assisting & identifying alternate component attributes critical to maintaining Product Performance
* Collaborate with (i) a firmware engineer to implement control and protection functions; (ii) a magnetics expert to design, configure, and optimize the power magnetics; and (iii) a mechanical engineer to optimize thermal & mechanical performance
* Work with component, safety, test, & manufacturing engineers to ensure products are viable
* Optimize designs with an eye toward efficiency, density, and cost
* Create schematics, bills of material, and supervise PWB layouts
* Perform hands-on lab work building and debugging of prototypes
* Perform electrical characterization per checklists, design validation, and qualification
* Introduce products into high-volume production
* Lead concept & design reviews; take schedule direction from the Project Manager
* Follow prescribed design processes while identifying opportunities to accelerate
* Provide technical support for production and field issues
* Consult senior engineers for technical guidance as required

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum 4 years of experience in an engineering, IT, scientific or other technical position)
Minimum of 3 years of engineering design experience in power supply converters
