Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
IT Services (ITS) at Iowa State is seeking applicants for an Endpoint Systems Administrator I or II. This position is responsible for compliance and security, inventory management, administration, and support for the multitude of devices at ISU. This is accomplished through implementation, administration, configuration, monitoring, reporting, securing, and support. The successful candidate will have experience managing Windows and Apple devices using Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Jamf Pro, and other technologies. The successful candidate will also have experience with inventory management and securing endpoint systems.
This position may be filled at a higher level. In addition to the aforementioned responsibilities, the higher level role will help manage endpoint responsibilities and work closely with technology partners across campus to strategize and implement endpoint technologies and initiatives.
The Endpoint Technologies team manages endpoint systems for local and enterprise systems across Iowa State used by faculty, staff, and students. The Endpoint Technologies team partners with IT professionals from around campus to provide specialized IT resources to ISU’s academic and business units.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for Windows and Apple platforms, possess strong and effective verbal and written communication skills, creatively solve problems, have experience with securing endpoint devices, and work successfully within the team and campus community.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience; OR a Master’s degree and related experience.
Supplemental Required Education and Experience
The above requirement are for the Endpoint Systems Administrator I (Systems Analyst I).
The requirements for the Endpoint Systems Administrator II (Systems Analyst II) are a Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related experience; OR a Master’s degree and 1 year of related experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
• Experience with the ITIL framework
• Experience with ServiceNow
• Experience with Microsoft SCCM and/or JamfPro
• Experience with endpoint management tools such in an enterprise environment
• Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy Management (GPOs)
• Experience with Endpoint Security (PC, Mac, Printers, other)
• Experience with scripting and automation
• Experience deploying and maintaining software
• Experience with Printer Deployment
• Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM)
