This role is a HYBRID position requiring frequent on-site work. Must be within a commutable distance.
Epic certification preferred; if not certified, must become Epic certified within 3 weeks of completing the mandatory Epic training sessions.
Must be available to travel for Epic training beginning the week of 3/31/2025.
Education and Experience Requirements:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field or higher is preferred.

5-7 years of experience working with Epic systems or similar EHR platforms preferably in claims analysis or a related field.

High School diploma with 7 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor’s degree.

Relevant certifications in data management, SQL, or Epic systems are highly desirable
Primary Function:
The primary function of the Business Intelligence Sr. Developer (BID) role is to design, manage, and maintain analytics content for end users and third parties who require Epic data. This includes developing reports, dashboards, and other data visualizations that help stakeholders make informed decisions based on accurate and timely data extracted from Epic systems as well as engaging stakeholders to determine the appropriate business needs. The BID ensures that the analytics content is tailored to meet the specific needs of data consumers, supports operational workflows, and complies with relevant standards and best practices.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinate and collaborate with application teams and subject matter experts to determine business needs, document requirements, and configure Epic reporting tools per the requirements.

Recommend and implement creative SQL code to solve for complex workflow reporting needs.

Identify and analyze risks associated with Business Intelligence project tasks; escalate as needed.
-
Resolves end user reporting escalations when brought to attention.
-
Oversees and provides proactive Business Intelligence support through monitoring reporting tool usage and collaborating with experts to solve problems.

Configuring and testing Epic‐released and Foundation System content for all applications. For example:

Writing SQL and configuring Radar settings for custom SQL metrics.

Modifying existing reports, as necessary.

Distributing analytics content to data consumers.

Reviewing peer reports for validity.

Maintaining the Analytics Catalog and associated metadata records.

Testing analytics build in a specified testing environment and volume testing in live environments.

Reviewing upgrade documentation related to Cogito features and determining how to implement the changes.

Serving as the main point of contact for technical issues and general questions related to assigned applications

Working in collaboration with Epic to implement new projects ﴾such as a new module﴿

Managing upgrades of assigned applications with Epic by setting timelines, maintaining continuous communication, and addressing issues

Analyzing and communicating the impact of issues

Triaging requests and determining the priority of issues

Resolving end‐user application issues using Epic documentation and ensuring business needs are met

Validating solutions are complete and appropriately implemented

Building relationships with end users and providing consistent support through day‐to‐day communication
