Finance IT is responsible for information technology strategy
development, solution deployment, and customer support for Chevron
Corporate Finance global operations including Comptrollers, Treasury,
Financial Shared Services, Tax, Audit, and Investor Relations. This is
a strong team environment with fast paced and challenging work.
This position supports the Corporation Comptrollers Financial
Reporting and Analysis group that consolidates the financial results
and financial forecast for Chevron. This group also provides
information and analysis to External Reporting for the annual report,
SEC filings, and other documents; Business Planning Consolidation,
Investor Relations, the Comptroller, CFO and senior corporate
management. Positions in the group provide a broad view of Chevron and
will expose the successful candidate to key corporate information. As
a Comptroller System Support (CSS) team member, you leverage strong
analytics, build business acumen and relationships to partner
effectively and reliably with finance.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
* Technical Systems Support Oracle Hyperion Financial Management
(HFM) System, Chevron s consolidation system which includes
creating and updating HFM dimensions, metadata, rules, forms,
grids Smart view excel reports and other HFM related maintenance
as well as understanding data sources and loading procedures, and
troubleshooting the HFM application. Monitor and maintain system
interfaces and Connect Direct, Hyperion Financial Management
(HFM)/Financial Data Management (FDM)scripts. Create and maintain
system procedures and supporting documentation. Troubleshoot HFM
and FDM technical application issues, collaborating closely with
the vendor, business partners and internal infrastructure
resources to identify and take corrective action to resolve.
Administer oversight of test labs (virtual and physical),
coordinate and participate in testing execution, insuring
application coding and server modifications or enhancements do not
compromise system integrity.
* Solutions Architecture Coordinate implementation of business
system solutions that include server, database, application, web,
hardware, software, network, security, monitoring, and disaster
recovery. Liaise with Enterprise Architecture, ensure strategic
direction is in alignment with longer term enterprise asset plans.
Develop requirements and coordinate application upgrades,
enhancements, password changes, and patches to Comptroller s
* Information Risk Management Manage, ensure technical compliance
with all regulatory and corporate requirements including IP, CIRS,
SOX and Audit. Coordinate BCP/DR for Mission Critical
applications, participate in the annual exercise.
* Project work Understanding, planning and executing opportunities
for Cloud migration, Financial Consolidation Study, and
participating on Finance LEAP efforts. Identify long-term and
emerging infrastructure impacts to Comptroller s mission critical
systems, collaborate with key vendors and Infrastructure Asset
counterparts to plan for required mitigation.
* User engagement and support Analyst will support the
consolidation process, management reporting and statutory
reporting across all regions and at corporate level. Performs SOX
controls, facilitating and completing periodic reviews. Develop
requirements and coordinate application upgrades, enhancements,
and patches to Comptroller s systems. Champion application change
management processes and documentation.
* Communication – Ability to effectively interact with team members
and/or management, providing clear, logical recommendations in a
concise manner, to either internal or external stakeholders.
Ability to synthesize complex topics and present them to the
audience at the appropriate level. Must be able to clearly
describe risk and tradeoff decisions regarding support of mission
critical applications.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in
support of Information Systems
* 5+ years designing, implementing and supporting information
systems with emphasis on Windows Server, Windows SQL Server, IIS
* 5+ years experience designing, implementing and supporting
business applications and reporting
* Financial close consolidation system (Oracle HFM, SAP BPC, etc.)
administration or equivalent experience required
Preferred Qualifications:
* Demonstrated troubleshoot ability. Server maintenance, log
interpretation, network troubleshooting.
* Strong, clear, effective, communication skills, able to translate
information into business speak.
* Tech Skills & Knowledge: SOX, batch scripting, NAS, AD, SQL
mirroring. Apply arch disciplines to problem solve.
* Infrastructure & Patch Mgmt. Applying technical knowledge to
assess effective solution alternatives that meet business
