IT Manager

The IT Manager is responsible ensuring all IT functions are running smoothly for a growing company. Leads and guides the work of technical staff. Plans a variety of projects and assesses business implications for each stage. Monitors progress to assure deadlines, standards, and budget targets are met. Drives ways to innovate, improve, and streamline wherever possible. This position requires exceptional communication skills with the ability to establish relationships and build rapport with internal and external customers.

This position is a full-time, exempt position located in Olympia, WA; the position reports directly to the General Manager/Chief Operations Officer. The IT Manager generally works Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm but may be required to work an altered schedule in order to meet the needs of the business. Local travel to other company locations and training seminars may be required from time to time. Responsibilities herein represent typical elements and criteria considered necessary to perform the job successfully. Other duties may be assigned to meet emerging business needs.

• Develop, implement, and monitor the IT management and cybersecurity programs
• Evaluate and develop the company’s IT vision and translate it into actionable goals
• Analyze business requirements by partnering with the leadership team to select, enhance and launch IT solutions and applications
• Monitor the performance of company IT systems to ensure performance, productivity, and cost effectiveness
• Lead IT projects and manage the IT team which includes analysts, technicians, consultants and vendors
• Lead, coordinate, and manage company IT security programs to ensure company data cybersecurity protection, awareness, incident response, policies, and procedures
• Consult with stakeholders across the organization to identify business and technology needs and to optimize the use of information technology and telephony solutions
• Ensure smooth delivery and operation of IT services by monitoring systems performance
• Establish and execute major project communication plans
• Formulate, implement and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans
• Identify impending challenges in the company IT environment given expected rapid growth and developing strategies to ensure the availability and performance of IT systems and data availability
● Evaluate existing systems to determine effectiveness and suggests changes to meet organizational requirements.
● Verify stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system architecture
● Evaluate and lead IT implementation activities for emerging technology opportunities
● Coordinate the monitoring of system operation to detect potential problems
● Analyze system specifications and translate system requirements to task specifications and design software systems to form a basis for the solution of information processing problems and integrate software with existing systems
● Deliver projects on-time and to specification with an appropriate level of quality that meets specified project scope expectations
● Oversee the relationship management for related services with key business partners
● Communicate with staff and internal customers to understand specific system requirements
● Provide advice on project costs, design concepts, or design change
● Collaborate in a team environment to resolve problems professionally and systematically
● Supervise and coordinate the activities of assigned IT staff; encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
● Validate completed staff work relating to upgrade scenario tests to ensure software is compatible to be updated with latest features prior to implementation.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient knowledge and skills in computer operating environments within G Suite / Google Workspace and Windows 10.
• 5+ years of IT management experience, including strong people, project, and vendor management capabilities
• Experience in leading IT with a multi-site, multi-state locations preferably in dietary supplements is preferred.
• Well-versed in leading IT operations in what is primarily a fast paced and rapidly growing company.
• Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
• Knowledge of information security issues and best practices.
• Knowledge of telephony systems and related best practices.
• Advanced skill in developing tools, programs and services. Ability to develop informative and succinct management status reporting, managing service level agreements, establishing key performance metrics and continuous process improvement culture.
• Proficient knowledge and skills in computer applications, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite 2016/2019 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), all prevalent Internet browsers, and Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud.
• Knowledge and experience with SAP Business One or similar large-scale ERP is highly preferred.
• Certifications and credentials related to system administration and engineering.
