The mission of the Office of HIV/AIDS Network Coordination (HANC) is to support the science and operations of the NIH-funded global HIV/AIDS Clinical Trials Networks by increasing efficiency and resource sharing through cross-network coordination of critical activities. HANC provides a framework for collaboration and improved communication among network staff, DAIDS staff, research site staff, and the many partners and research groups engaged in the NIH research agenda.
The HANC Project Manager reports directly to the HANC Deputy Director and is responsible for managing all HANC Cross-Network Laboratory Coordination-related activities including project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing. The incumbent also supports the Cross-Network Coordination-related activities.
Perform some or all of the following responsibilities:
* Manage the Cross-Network Laboratory Coordination activities of the Laboratory Focus Group, the ACTG/IMPAACT Lab Technology Committee (LTC), and assist the DAIDS external quality assurance (QA) programs, including the virology and pharmacology QA programs, as well as additional ad hoc working groups as necessary. Conduct regularly scheduled meetings and ensure all projects are completed according to project time-lines.
* Identify linkages between Cross-Network Laboratory Coordination working groups and facilitate opportunities for collaboration in order to mutually benefit each party’s goals and objectives. Track potential impacts to working group activities in response to changes in funding, regulatory, and industry landscapes.
* Represent HANC and all Cross-Network Laboratory Coordination-related working groups to relevant collaborator institutions, organizations, and individuals.
* Support the Cross-Network Coordination-related meetings and activities of the Communications Working Group, the Data Management Center Working Group, the Evaluation Working Group, and the Site Coordinators Working Group as well as additional ad hoc working groups as necessary.
* Participate in the regular meetings and calls of other groups related to Cross-Network Coordination including OCSO/HANC Leadership, OPCRO/HANC Leadership, DAIDS Clinical Research Management System Collaborators, VIDD IT, etc.
* Maintain the HANC public website and SharePoint collaborator portal. Collaborate with Fred Hutch SharePoint Team to develop, design, and implement improved sites, ensure consistent functionality of current features, and address technical issues as needed.
* Design, generate, and manage tracking processes for working group projects and resource libraries including the VQA Ordering System and associated resources, LTC Work Load Tracking, the Lab Certificate Library, etc.
* Provide and regularly update an on line, collaborative workspace for working group members. Use this virtual workspace to store documents, SOPs, work plans, etc. relevant to working group activities. Assess user behavior and update workspace functionality to meet emerging user needs on an ongoing basis.
* Provide technical support, including training and consultation, for working group members and HANC staff. Develop proficiency with multiple tools (ex. Microsoft Office, ReadyTalk, Visio, Trello, Basecamp, etc.) and deploy the relevant tools in support of both internal and external collaborators as necessary.
* Employ systems and strategies to identify and disseminate updates and changes to policies, procedures, regulations, best practices, etc. relevant to Cross-Network Laboratory Coordination and HANC collaborators. Relevant subject areas include ICH GCP, FDA/EMA regulations, HHS/NIH/DAIDS policies, recent publications, fiscal administration best practices, etc.
* Participate in annual meetings of the NIH HIV/AIDS Clinical Trials Networks. Use these meetings to build relationships, enhance collaboration with HANC partners, identify network activities relevant to areas of coordination, and highlight HANC working group activities.
* Participate in scientific conferences, meetings, and other events related to Cross-Network Laboratory Coordination and HIV clinical research. Use these events to build relationships, enhance collaboration with HANC partners, and identify new partners and opportunities for resource sharing and collaboration.
* Participate in trainings, seminars/webinars, and other professional development opportunities to increase subject area knowledge of HIV clinical research, major network protocols, and project management tools and strategies.
* Manage special activities and events, such as webinars, face-to-face working group meetings, and workshops.
* Participate in the development, review, revision, and distribution of cross-network materials, including HANC collaborator surveys as well as other questionnaires, data collection instruments, and educational materials.
* Participate in the development of HANC-authored manuscripts, work plans, and progress reports including regular progress reporting of all Cross-Network Laboratory Coordination-related activities and projects.
* Manage additional complex projects as requested.
– Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
– A minimum of three years’ experience in project management.
– Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in a dynamic environment.
– High-level proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
– Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time and work productively while on travel.
– Master’s Degree in a related field.
– Knowledge of human clinical trials, immunology, pharmacology, and/or virology.
– Experience with SharePoint.
