Healthcare Financial Operations Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Financial and Operations Analyst will develop and provide management based reporting and analysis to support daily operations and projects for Prospect Physician Enterprise (PPE), a national employed physician business segment. The analyses may include, but not limited to, dashboard development & analysis, financial & provider productivity analysis of local health network physician operations, financial projections, new service line business development initiatives and acquisition proposals. This position is also responsible for creating, reporting and analyzing ad hoc reports as necessary. This position is responsible for obtaining business intelligence information from a variety of sources, including financial, operational, productivity and quality data. It requires the ability to analyze health care business intelligence data from conceptualization through presentation. It requires proficiency with analytical tools, knowledge of data analysis methodology, use of presentation software, strong communication skills and a strong commitment to and affinity for delivering the highest level of customer service.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

BS Accounting/Finance or MIS, MBA/MHA Preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

*
Five (5) years progressively responsible professional experience in financial analysis and data extraction, aggregation and management.

*
Three (3) years working knowledge of Revenue Cycle workflow and practices, including professional fee billing, collections and accounts receivable management.

*
Experience in accounting, financial analysis, cash flow reporting, product line evaluation and revenue cycle.

*
Experience with dashboard tools.

*
Strong experience with SQL/SQL server, or other equivalent data mining.

*
Experience with decision support systems preferred.

*
Experience with development of pro-forma financial statements.

COMPETENCIES:

*
Knowledge of the principles of financial analysis.

*
Ability to aggregate and manage large datasets, analyze them and identify key operational and financial issues and opportunities.

*
Ability to assess and audit data sources to ensure data integrity.

*
Advanced skills with Microsoft Office products, including (but not limited to) Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.

*
Has highly proficient mathematical and analytical skills.

*
Demonstrated effectiveness in problem solving.

Effective oral & written communication skills, including formulating recommendations and conducting presentations for management.

*
Proven ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team, and contribute to a dynamic team environment.

A solid customer service acumen and interpersonal skill is essential.

Ability and commitment to handle multiple tasks, set appropriate priorities and accomplish assignments in a thorough and timely manner with guidance from manager(s).
