This position serves as the Information Technology Operations Officer (ITOO) for the information Technology (IT) Division, Base C4IT Division (BCD) Kodiak detached location in Juneau, AK.
Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
Typical work assignments include:
– Providing Information Systems (IS) direction and technical authority for the BCD Electronic Support Detachments (ESD’s) ITs and Cutter System Managers (CSM’s) throughout the AOR.
– Performing a variety of duties related to IT projects involving program-related issues that contain complicated elements.
– Managing special initiatives and task force groups to accomplish programmatic goals.
– Ensuring completion of Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO’s) in the absence of the Maintenance Control Officer (MCO).
– Ensuring consistent IT systems service delivery throughout AOR.
– Performing Remedy Queue management and assists with moving the support process along.
– Reviewing customer requests for systems involving a wide variety of different platforms, operating systems, applications, and desktop configurations to identify business requirements.

All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. This includes Time-In-Grade requirements for current status employees applying through merit promotion procedures. Status applicants applying for a promotion must have 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade.
GS-12: To qualify for the GS-12 grade level, applicants must have at least 1 year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level that includes all of the following: serving as a subject matter expert regarding IT test environments, virtual infrastructure; Network architecture, Active Directory, Windows Operating systems, Workstation and Server hardware, and enterprise and desktop software; leading and participating in IT engineering and integration initiatives; providing technical benefit review along with recommendations; working in conjunction with the contracting officer and contracting officer’s representatives, and monitoring vendor performance and responsiveness.
Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
