Detailed job description, including responsibilities, work performed, tools or equipment used, etc.:

  • Monitor and maintain the organization's servers, and systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Handle system installations, configurations, and upgrades, including hardware and software components.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, diagnosing and resolving technical problems in a timely manner.
  • Implement security measures to safeguard the organization's data, systems, and networks against unauthorized access and potential threats.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various IT platforms and applications.
  • Perform regular backups and disaster recovery planning to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify IT needs and provide technical support for projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain documentation for IT procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in system administration.
  • Plus other duties as may be assigned

Minimum skills, experience, education and ability required for this job:

  • Must have strong analytical and logical skills. Ability to prioritize action to satisfy multiple simultaneous requests in optimum order. Should be calm under pressure and have a customer service orientation.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in IT System Administration or related IT position.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as a System Administrator or in a similar IT role.
  • Proficiency in operating systems such as Windows Server and Linux.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware) and cloud platforms (Azure).
  • Knowledge of networking protocols, firewall configurations, and network security.
  • Experience in managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Skilled in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automation and task scripting.
  • Understanding of ITIL framework and best practices for IT service management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Technical Certifications including but not limited to Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MSCE), VMWare Certified Professional (VCP), CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred.
  • Ability to be a consistent role model for company's Service Excellence standards

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in cramped spaces such as under desks, behind computer equipment and in wiring closets
  • Must be able to lift and carry computers, monitors, printers and other equipment on a regular basis
  • Use various hand tools such as screwdrivers, soldering gun, cable crimpers
  • Use a computer keyboard on a regular basis

  • This is an salary paid position and is not subject to overtime pay

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Steamboat area base salary range: $72,000 – $82,000 per year
