Job Summary: We, in the Command, Control, and Communications Group (A4F), are seeking a highly capable, motivated, and enthusiastic Java software developer who is passionate about developing powerful applications to address complex challenges. You will apply your acquired skills, knowledge, and creativity to help design and develop advanced 2D/3D visualization tools and applications to help tackle real-world defense challenges.
Duties (Listed in order of importance):
1. Participate in cross-enterprise teams to develop creative, 2D/3D visualization software for the Comprehensive Layer Defeat Modeling & Simulation Environment to support development of new and novel concepts. Your creative development will be unleashed using the Java programming language.
2. Creatively develop components for the User Interface to include interactive 3D objects and behaviors, virtual globe with mapping service, menus, forms, digital nautical charts, and related informational overlays. Work includes creative development of UI elements and behaviors and implementation of a robust test suite.
3. Develop effective web-based analysis tools to aid in the generation and organization of graphical analysis artifacts. Collaborate with analysts and end-users to build intuitive user interfaces that facilitate the organization and visualization of complex data.
4. Effectively communicate proposed concepts, designs, and solutions to development teams, supervisors, and Sponsors. Generate detailed documentation that brings together concept definitions, requirements, design decisions, and technical recommendations.

B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline with coursework in software development / engineering.
Minimum of 3 years programming experience and proficiency with User Interface development in Java.
Experience working successfully within a team environment either at school or in the work place.
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Active SECRET clearance or ability to obtain INTERIM SECRET clearance.
Ph.D. or ****** Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline with coursework in software development / engineering.
Experience developing large scale software systems.
Strong working knowledge of game design and development practices.
Proficient at developing 3D visualization software for modeling & simulation applications.
Strong working knowledge of modern front-end web development frameworks such as Angular, Vue, and/or React and back-end frameworks such as Django and/or Flask.
Strong analytical and logical skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrated success working in agile, multi-disciplinary team environments.
Active TOP SECRET clearance.
Special Working Conditions: Travel (5% or less) to local and remote contractor facilities for meetings and reviews as necessary. Travel to support occasional test events involving extended or evening hours, travel aboard ships and to field site activities.
