Description

Leidos is seeking an experienced Java Team Lead who leads a small to mid-sized team consisting of experienced Java developers and some new Java  developers. Leads, directs and reviews the work of team who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. Provides primary input to hiring, firing, promotion, performance and rewards decisions for direct reports.

Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within one area. Has advanced knowledge and skills within software development (especially Java development) and has an understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the IT organization within a large federal agency.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead development/design projects using Java, J2EE, Oracle, JavaScript, Struts, Spring, Hibernate, Web services, RIA technologies, WebSphere.

• Contribute to defining time-tables and project plans.

• Provide ongoing leadership to the development team.

• Handle development/design projects using Java, J2EE, Oracle, JavaScript, Struts, Spring, WebSphere.

• Contribute to defining time-tables and project plans.

Basic Qualifications:

• Generally has 2+ years of experience leading development teams or projects.

• Experience with Java, Java Beans, Java Servlets, and JavaScript.

• Web programming skills.

• Has experience with software architecture and design.

• Able to understand user requirements, develop specifications, design, review code and implement systems in line with standards and regulatory requirements in order to meet user / business requirements.

• Contributes to the technical design for development projects by reviewing and understanding the high level functional specifications.

• Has problem-solving capability and ability to clearly present technical information Typically requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 5+ years or prior relevant experience or Masters with 3+ years of prior relevant experience. Ability to be cleared by the US Government via a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI).

Desired Qualifications

• Experience working on projects in an IRS/Treasury environment.

• Has experience working with Agile methodologies and scrums teams.

• Web development certification(s).

Pay Range:

Pay Range $97,500.00 – $176,250.00
